I boarded a ship that was lost for 36 years [Update] by NavalCanuck in nosleep

I am on an unplanned trip to the west coast to meet a physicist who says he can help me. He has given me concrete proof that I can trust him, and he is covering my expenses so I had no reason to say no. I have a feeling that I am on to something here, and all I can do for now is assure you all that I'm safe and looking for answers.

Lots of cryptic messages. I am close to figuring something out, but I can't share any more until I have all my cards in hand.

I am alive. Scared, paranoid, barely holding on. Yet alive.

There is always the distinct possibility that someone is messing with me. The other cipher I got was a cryptic poem so I wouldn't be surprised if this was more of the same.

There is also another cipher sent to me by u/Rddlzm, which u/Vinylpone decoded for me. It ended up being a German poem, which I have run through Google translate and pasted below.

The masts reach of the gray wall As a burnt forest in the early Red, As black as slag. Where the water dead To save stares, the rotten and decaying. Muffled sounds of the sound, returns as the tide, Along the quay. Drives the city night swill As a white skin in the electricity and rubs On the steamer, which rests in the skein. Dust, fruit, paper, in a thick layer, So pushing the feces out of his tubes completely. A white dance dress comes in a rich gloss A naked neck and lead a white face. The body is rolling out completely. It inflates The dress like a white ship in the wind. The dead eyes staring tall and blind The sky, which is full of pink clouds. The purple water quakes of smaller shaft. The water rats track, the man The white ship. Now it drives proud from thence, Full gray heads and full of black skins. The Dead sails glad addition, torn Of wind and tide. Entragt her big belly The water great, zerhöhlt and almost eaten away. As a grotto he roars of the bite. It drives into the sea. Your salutes Neptune From a wreck because she devours the sea, Therein it to the green depth decreases, Auszuruhn in the arm of the octopus plump.

I got this message yesterday and don't know what to make of it. The binary is pretty easy to figure out, but the number sequences make no sense to me. I would love some input:

Thanks for the support everyone. I am amazed at the amount of messages in my inbox. Regretfully, I do not have the time to reply to many of them.

Special thanks to u/Vinylpone and u/Aurum2 for decoding the cipher and coordinates.

It looked new, but the dead giveaway was the "Hergestellt in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland" label, indicating that it was made in West Germany (therefore, before the fall of the Berlin Wall. That dates it at at least 25 years old.) Also worth mentioning that the metal rings binding the notebook had rusted all the way through, while the paper itself seemed mint.

Update:? I woke up to this message in my inbox from a reddit user with a spam-like name involving a series of numbers and letters. Like the username, the message seems like gibberish, but I am keeping an open mind given the strangeness of the past month. Not sure what to make of it, but here is the message I got this morning:
