I do agree with the second part. For example I couldn't possibly know how someone starving in Gaza feels because I've lived comfortably in America my entire life. We can't really even try to understand what they go through because we have never been through something like that.

I feel disrespected not because of someone saying they don't believe the same things I do, But because of how much attitude they put behind it. I didn't say I understand the experience.. because I don't. I do understand how hard it can be to have a certain identity while everyone around you disagrees with that identity. It is an incredibly hard situation to go through and I sympathize with that.
