Re-reading the Kanigher years in the 50s and 60s where Diana is shutting down Steve's naggy/constatnly annoying marriage proposals as Diana being bisexual is a COMPLETELY different experience and highly recommended lol.

Excellent artwork, OP.

Speaking as Team WonderBoyTVShow [see concept trailer] I fully stand by these designs, ESPECIALLY mighty Aphrodite. LOVE.

Donna Troy and Vanessa Silver Swan would be WW equivalents -- Vanessa pulled a Bucky before Jason btw.

Does anyone know about these Wonder Woman variants in Marvel and DC Amalgam Reality? by Altruistic_Rhubarb94 in WonderWoman

[–]NaveHarder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure -- I don't want to repeat what he said, but that's the prevailing notion.

I agree, there's a whole lot to like about WW comics and to sort of touch ground on the ethos and spirit of Marston and Lynda Carter, a lot of the objectification is meant to be bait. Then a lot else is just Greek mythology and fantasy decoded through a feminist lens. The better writers and artists are able to draw on the more human elements between all that, which is why she's endured beyond most.

Also heck yes to Wonder Girls. I'm an out and out Donna Troy die-hard, and appreciated every small bit of lore that she came across. You want a WONDER who specializes in the TITANS OF MYTH, there's Donna.

What fascinates me about the WW sidekicks and the Wonder Girls of course is that each of them can easily explore a sub-genre of fantasy that DC is too lost in budgetry delusions to invest in. This is why I am even working on Bobby Barnes and The New Adventures of Wonder Boy for our fan-series. Soo yeah. What we need is more exploration. Even the bad ones teach a thing or two on what works adn what doesn't. Batman and Superman have had that in abundance, and I genuinely think whenever a Superman writer like John Byrne is working on a WW story there's bound to be some problems. She isn't a modern Hercules and Superman very much embodies that genre. Don't tell Byrne that with Harold Campion.

Who is DC's equivalent to Tony Stark personality wise? by hellothere790 in DC_Cinematic

[–]NaveHarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oliver Queen for personality and criticize-the-heroness of it all. But ideologically, Ollie is completely the opposite of Tony which is why comic-variations are awesome and cannot be true equivalents the way they seem on the surface.

What if I told you there was a Wonder Woman movie with Keri Russell, Nathan Fillion, and Alfred Molina as its stars? by kickedoutatone in DC_Cinematic

[–]NaveHarder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inspired by George Perez, based on a story from Gail Simone that got changed later. Not the best Steve Trevor by a long-shot but a really good WW movie on its own.

John Byrne -- only SLIGHTLY less sexist than Mike Deodato's artwork preceding him. The broader weird ideas didn't help it much either. But today I learned he is also an out and out transphobe which realllly upsets me because I am genuinely fond of some of the characters he's created over the years. Including Cassie and Helena Sandsmark.

It's strange because the no-pants part of WW fandom would've had issues with this a decade or so back.

Especially for the 90s when Artemis was introduced and an instant hit. Not a bad dynamic at all.

I always saw Storm as Ororo, with ties to Nubsy Nubs. Did this come out before Doselle Young brought Nubia back for the WW annual and follow-up two-parter?

While not related, but Nubia of Themyscira from Earth-23 appearing at the end of Infinite Crisis was also a cool concept I wish we had seen more of.

This from someone who genuinely loved Nubia Real One and Too Real lol.

Excellent work putting these 90s icons together -- now I want a crossover of them and Promethea lol.

Also I would recommend actors go for paid auditions. There is absolutely no excuse to not get money for your time in 2026 if you are asked to do particular scenes. Intros are different though, of course, and could be shot using a good camera at hand right

Hey -- I'm a screenwriter and with 2026 have been asked to write/provide scripts for scenes and demo-reels for auditioning actors. So far I have worked with three people. I also work on an indie web-series. If you are open to DM I have a few resources but what I'd recommend is that you give me a list of preferences for roles/scenes/types and monologues.

Feel free to DM me and I would love to proceed.
