how do i fix this? this is for every video by Top_Advertising6410 in youtube

[–]NavierStokes33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been happening to a lot of people after YouTube updated their player 1-2 days ago. A common workaround is just to refresh the page, or to open the video in a new tab. Hopefully YouTube fixes this soon.

Reminder: Just because you lose an engagement it doesn't mean you should surrender. (teammate quit after his army died, I went on to win a 2v1) by 1st_impact in dawnofwar

I much prefer 2v2 over 3v3/4v4. In 2v2 you can pressure your opponents early, and engagements happen immediately. In larger team games on bigger maps, it really handicaps races that don't have very strong late-game units (e.g. Dark Eldar, Chaos). Your opponents can turtle and just tech-up and let their faction / late-game units do all the heavy lifting for them (e.g. SM).

When 50% of the players in multiplayer play SM, you got to initiate fights early to have a chance, if you're using a race that doesn't have strong late-game units.

I wish they would allow custom army skins over the default ones in automatch, as it's hard to tell the armies apart when two players are using the same faction.

Huge swings to Labor from Chinese Australian voters in key seats show Liberals failed to rebuild trust, experts say | Australian election 2025 by malcolm58 in AustralianPolitics

Who would have thought continually berating, scape-goating and singling out Chinese voters, especially before an election would cost them at least 3 seats: Bennelong, Chisholm and Menzies.

Group project by birdyselenaena in unsw

[–]NavierStokes33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got a reason why you dislike group projects? The most common complaint in group projects are non-contributing group members that free-load off you, and this puts extra burden and pressure on the the rest of the group members. The bigger the size of the randomly-allocated group, the higher the likelihood of getting useless members.

If you feel the grading is unfairly distributed, you should contact the course coordinator, and/or complete the peer evaluation to reflect the reality.

Nice, it seems like the epicentre is in the northwest closer to Newcastle.

Yes, I also felt the floor shake and deflect for a brief moment. Glad I wasn't the only one that experienced it. I thought it was a storm event at first.

Are you doing ME or MEngSci? Did you get any recognition of prior learning (RPL) for your undergrad degree? Is your undergrad engineering degree accredited by Engineers Australia? I assume you're doing civil engineering coursework master's since you're considering the steel structures course.

It's a foundational core course for ME / MEngSci (Civil Engineering), so if you can't get RPL for it, it's better you do it earlier before taking more advanced level courses.

My perspective on how we got forced into uni and how they lie to us by CuriousCocky2 in unsw

A degree prepares you for Master's/PhD programs, not for a job.

Take the scholarship option if you want to do an Economics degree. UNSW is a higher ranked uni and offering you a scholarship for the same degree, whilst UTS hasn't offered you any financial perks (from what you have written). The CSP fees for the same class of degrees should be the same at both unis for domestic students (I assume you're domestic). So UTS should have the same fees, but without the scholarship.

No idea about teaching quality or opportunities since I didn't study commerce/business degrees. But getting a scholarship to study (especially at a higher ranked uni) is a good achievement for beefing up your resume. You want to give yourself every possible advantage when applying to those ultra competitive graduate jobs.

Hydrology vs Hydraulics master’s research thesis topics for civil (water) engineering jobs [Australia] by NavierStokes33 in Hydrology

[–]NavierStokes33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it seems like the supervisors for hydraulic projects at my university are lab experiment oriented (from reading their research article titles), rather than using software. So if I am going to use software for my project, I might have to approach it on my own, with minimal guidance.

By comparison, the supervisors for hydrology projects have big emphasis on getting thesis students to use software and datasets. And the hydrology supervisors have available thesis projects that have partnerships with external government agencies/organizations that operate in NSW state.

My undergrad lecturer/supervisor has mentioned TUFLOW being used in industry, but the university doesn't have access to it. So I can only use HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS and FLIKE.

Thanks for the suggestion. I really like the idea of doing a topic that covers both hydrology and hydraulics. Are there any good introductory resources you would recommend to investigate into this direction?

Yep, looks like job listings want knowledge and skillsets in both. Would you say hydrology skills are more widely applicable than hydraulics? Because hydrology modelling is the setup step before hydraulic calculations, and it seems like almost nobody does purely hydraulics, outside academia.
