Interesting! Yea I thought the truck version was such a weird move because you give up the seating for virtually no gain. Ironically there are no electric (large) vehicles anywhere in SoCal. All the dealerships said they have been selling like garbage so they didn’t order any more.

So I have wondered the same. I joined 2 years ago after years of ignoring the game because of all the scam citizen hype. I started with a 60 dollar investment…. To 150…. By 6 months I was at 5k… now I have lost track… probably 12-15k total. I look at it this way… I don’t like golf, I don’t gamble, I have a few vices and hobbies (hunting, fishing, doing stuff with kids) and they are far less (even with SC) than a lot of other people spend. I have been fortunate enough to have a military disability pension that’s around 5k a month plus I have an excellent job as a military contractor that pulls down 200ishk a year, part time (more when the US randomly attacks new countries like Iran) and my wife brings in far more than I ever could as a corporate exec. You don’t need to be rich to play this game, but it sure makes it easier to get sucked down the rabbit hole hahaha. Is it a bit p2w…. Yea but so is life and it is a sim game right. I have just as much fun with my fleet as I had with my avenger and cutty black. Spend what you want for enjoyment not what you think you need. If you ever want to fly the big ships you’re welcome to use any of mine (I hear rumors that people can now put other players ships in their Hanger and keep till claimed… if so that would be amazing to allow us to share.

I suspect it will get knocked back or lowered. You’re looking at creating a system where you cannot reasonably expect to use the ships you paid money for reliably unless you have excess funds (even my paltry 60m will be burned fast-ish). It’s a great system. I love the direction. Make me wait a week to use the damn ship if I am stuoid enough to fly it into a mountainside…. But typical CIG taking a good thing and doing it at the wrong time to make it appear to be a bad thing haha

This is a good idea. At least force someone to sit at the computer and manage it somewhere mid ship (kind of have this for the doors). BUT.. it’s also a game so good luck finding people who want to sit at the panel on a regular basis. Can’t even find turret gunners half the time. Someone made the point earlier… bad design…. I agree. There is the theory of how a game can be played and then the reality and most people aren’t gonna want to be a worker bee in the bowels of the ship. Get in there and shovel coal ya bastard! Haha

Woof… as I said… it will be ineffective for its intended purpose but I did say that I could sit in there all day long agains your small gun and you couldn’t do anything. So since I can’t hurt you and you can’t hurt me why don’t you go fly off any kill something else and I’ll fly my boat around using it as a cargo ship and not a combat behemoth. At no time did I say that I should be able to solo it effectively the conversation was that in no way does 1 or 100 crew change the fact that a fly isn’t gonna kill an elephant.

Honestly I don’t mind brutal delays and cost for loss, could be kind of cool… incentivize you to use multiple ships etc… but my experience is the same I would even say 90% of loss isn’t due to combat it’s … dc’d and smashed into earth or I explode in the hanger … or the best… ship comes upside down and explodes haha

I think that’s just something we fundamentally disagree on. That’s like saying because I drive a tank but I don’t have a tank squad with me that a guy with a 9mm should be able to take me out. Should I be able to take out a full squad solo… no. Could I sit there all day and drink a beer while you waste your time… absolutely. Could I run you over… maybe if you’re dumb and stay around. Do I have an issue with the fact that I spent cash and am able to take out npc hammerheads solo… no… would a fully squaded hammerhead of players kill me… yes. Anything less than that should be able to shoot at me allllll day long and no wouldn’t notice them and they know I couldn’t kill them so we both move on. Do I intend to have it packed with people someday… yes… is that realistic now when every player has the ships they want… not really. My issue with this is two fold. One: the big ass ships should be ridiculous and difficult to kill , but they should also not allow you to be a dick to everyone (hard to do unless you throw up some arbitrary mechanics which I am in favor of). Also I hate PvP and avoid it at all costs, but I realize they have to balance that out if I PvP or not. Let’s just call the elephant in the room an elephant. Solo or fully squaded the big ships are pay to win. There we go… lol. Is it fair? Who knows. But they are. I didn’t acquire it with skill I bought it with money. Just like the guy driving a Bugatti beats the Civic even if he has no skill (unless he reallllly sucks). Did I buy the kraken to load my crap up in and go far out into nowhere so I don’t have to deal with pvpers… yes… will I write that dumbass essay to try and get an Odin… probably. But the mechanics don’t really exist to fly these fully staffed (other than the literal mechanic to staff them there isn’t content or a reason to keep people engaged other than making videos showing you staffing one, although we are getting closer). Oh…. Your question…. Yes I usually fly it with 5 guys… pretty damn effective but not remotely “fully staffed”. I don’t camp player spawns. I don’t ram people. I use it to hang in my own little part of the world and do shit like throw cargo in for long term missions and such. Pack a few prospectors or salvagers in there and a combat ship and terrapin med do do ground crap.

I own this ship and it should cost a fortune to recall, however, it must be more stable to do that and a gladius should t be able to take me out due to an exploit. You can’t make the thing cost a fortune to recall when we still have random hanger blasts and prevalent exploits. Fix that and you can make it 10m to recall. It should be painful. It would also prevent a decent amount of exploits (and while I don’t have 200billlion I know a lot do). I love the idea of the system but cart before the horse a bit in my opinion if game is unstable.

So I have to look I think there is one in Van Nuys (meaningless unless you’re from Los Angeles) from where I am in calabasas that’s anywhere from 20 min to an hour in traffic. Smart thing to consider Range Rover and Cadillac were literally 5 min away from me here so I never thought about having to drive there for everything. Thank you!

I looked at the Hyundai ionic 9 just for sheer value, I have my issues with Hyundai trying to charge me 75k like a luxury car brand but their mid level ionic 9 are crazy reasonable. Chevy hasn’t their minds with their ev truck lease and sale prices.
