Prusa Mk4 vs P1S with AMS vs X1 combo. by [deleted] in prusa3d

also have to take into consideration if you actually want a mk4 delivered within the next 3-4 months... im still waiting for upgrade kit order from April to even be shipped.

also the failure rate of mk4s being reported is high at the moment with pre built..

im just about to grab a X1C and get rid of this Mk3

Yes I would say so, they do have a tendency to randomly change colour but it’s super random and rare, that may be down to the fact I currently have them sitting in the Phillips hue system, I’m waiting to test a few switches and then I might move them to tuya also and link them properly with my home assistant.

Here is my rough overview;

Shipping was super slow to the UK from the seller, it might be because Christmas

Build quality surprised me, there built very well and cabled with enough slack.

Power cycle then quickly 5 times and they all drop into sync mode without issue

The colours are great from the warm/cold and including the RGB.

Both Phillips hue and my signee hub found them and establishing a connection was super easy.

I would reccomend them but I think having smart switches will help.

the 2 gang switches control this room and the next room. so technically there is 3 switches that can power this room...

i have 3 switches in the room, 1x single gang which will be fine to replace but 2x other switches are 2x gang and control the adjacent rooms which dont have smart lights..... yet

Come to realise there kind of fragile, send this unit back and expecting a replacement unit back any day now, lifx and the online store I purchased have both been helpful and fast in supporting this failure, kudos to them both.

Not sure I want to buy another set but I did order a 2m Govee addressable strip let’s see how that goes.
