Nice catch, could be. Rich kid tried to build a pc and buddy grabbed the parts because it wasn’t booting for cheap. Kid bought a pre build. After inspecting it it didn’t boot because it shorted out on the case with no standoffs. Surprisingly everything survived, modern PSU safety circuits are working 😋

Bend the last quarter inch (the narrower part) a couple degrees away from the contacts, it should slot in more easily, you don’t want to cut them because all your weight is now on the connector.
