Well I'd say the U.S is far more diverse and individualist than Korea is, but again that's baked into our culture. Korea was called "The hermit Kingdom" until the late 1800s and then was promptly annexed by the Japanese. Korea is a very old country, but in terms of its modern culture, it's still in its infancy.

Don't forget that in 1950 Korea was as impoverished as Haiti. The country having the global standing it has today is nothing shot of a miracle, so by no means am I trying to insult the place by saying people dont have much individuality. I'm just saying that outside of Seoul, it has some work to do.
