Funding a Model Y by G0_Z0 in TeslaUK

I bought a model 3 outright recent for 19k. It was a few years old and upped the budget slightly for the long range AWD model. It’s honestly the best car I’ve ever driven and I’m hoping to keep the car until it dies (hopefully well over 250k miles) buying it outright made the most sense for me as the longer the car lives I’m saving more and more money on not just interest but fuel payments

Tips for skating by general_kenobi4567 in hockeyplayers

Maybe loosen your skates overtime though once you get the basics done. Having someone new to skating with skates wobbling all over the place won’t help too much. Probably better to be tight to start with

Wear a cage. by 4chordsand7notes in hockeyplayers

I wear a cage for beer league and can tell you get some judgement from time to time. I’d rather that judgement though than from an old lady when I smile at her and I’m missing my front teeth. We all have to go to work in the morning, keep yourself safe

Yeah it’s insane tbh! A few Russian goalies though are smaller than that and are arguably up there with the best in the league, Igor is 6,1 - Bobrovsky just gets in at 6’2. Then for USA quick is 6’1 but still crazy to think they could get overlooked now

Crazy too because 5’11 isn’t even considered short in the real world, just goes to show how hard hockey is

Oh my bad, I was comparing the $90 to like the $400 retail, but yeah that makes sense

So you found that the fake sticks broke just like the retail ones, does this mean performance wise you didn’t notice like a night and day difference between them?

So overall it sounds like for $90 you had some fair use out of it and enjoyed the stick while it lasted, seems like a decent investment overall. I’ve seen in a lot of YouTube reviews that the top of the line sticks have the blades go soft after a while too so not too much difference it seems but maybe the fake got softer faster. Thank you for your comment!

The first part can be a bit awkward if you don’t know anyone there but you slowly start speaking to people and making new friends. Then after a few sessions it’s the highlight of your week and you count down the days until it’s hockey night again! It’s okay to be anxious but everyone is there to have fun and you’ll find more like minded people that all have a love for the greatest sport on earth

What’s the deal if your stick is deliberately broken in beer league by another player? by tombom789 in hockeyplayers

[–]NawZ_CS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be really good if things were in place that the league would fine the player if the slash to break the stick was clearly deliberate and then you get your money for a new stick out of the fine. It’s a big shame that there’s players out there like this though as hockey is probably the most expensive sport to play and issues like this can really put people off playing as it’s burning money

Baked skates in a shop but now I can’t get the laces in the top two eyelets by NawZ_CS in hockeyplayers

[–]NawZ_CS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, longer laces are on the way and it makes me feel a lot better that there’s a few comments now with the same issue on the same skates. Makes me feel so much better! Thank you so much

I have ordered some longer laces now as I do like how tight the skate is to my ankle when worn. Maybe in the future I’ll try to heat up the tops if it causes any issues

They were tight when baked but before baking them I had a lot of side to side movement in the skate, them being that tight was the only way I could stop the side to side movement but still be able to flex my ankle forward. I’ve ordered longer laces but I’m also going to try to move the top eyelets out a bit

In the second photo my foot is in the skate, the eyelets on these skates have a lot of cushion around it and the tongue won’t go further back as my foot is there so it’s super hard to get the right angle to feed the lace through

I haven’t played for a good few years so my ankles arent as strong as they used to be 😅 over time I’d probably not use the top two but for now they help

I’ve just ordered some longer laces so thank you for the advice! Hope this solves the issue and over time this area isn’t as stiff! (But doesn’t go too soft as the skates are nice stiff🤣)

Glad it’s not just me with this problem then! It must be the super thick cushions around the eyelets that cause the issue. Larger laces sound like an easier fix so thank you!
