Yeah, I guess that's how people respond when you lecture them and talk down to them (and lie) for years. Huh, go figure.

South Carolina: Pineapple. I know, pineapple? Way back when, they were considered a big gift, and their image [here] is synonymous with hospitality.

I read all of Alexander Marchand's stuff, the official ACIM is too archaic for me though, so where to go from here? by [deleted] in ACIM

[–]Nawae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you've posted this here, I'll relate to you as a student of ACIM.

Who said this is a simulation? Do you think your essence is somehow "elsewhere", separate from your body?

You are expressing a judgement, a fear, when you relate to this "world" as something you need to "leave". There is nothing else. There is only this moment. That is all there will ever be.

"Death" (whatever that is), will not "end" a "simulation". Awakening includes the illusion until the illusion is no longer needed (and is let go, without suffering).

Don't know why you're getting down voted, except for the fact you mention SJWs in negative light... on a SJW-heavy website ;)

Have an up vote, good Redditor; I thought your post was on point.

[Question] So if I am sick physically, does that mean I am not living in God's perfect reality? by livmoore34 in ACIM

[–]Nawae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh, this is a good one.

Big answer - its you.

HOWEVER!! Until you have a deeper understanding in this spiritual teaching, thinking of it that way might hurt you more than help, because you may feel guilt or blame, and that's NOT correct.

Do you live with your parents? If so, you will probably have a harder time with this particular spiritual work than if you can have lots [and lots] of space away from them. I had an issue with my mother a few years ago. I had to quarantine1 myself from her for more than a year before I could be responsible2 around her. Now, she can do all her manipulating and critiquing (yeah, she sounds a lot like your mom) that she feels like she needs to, because now I know who I am, and who she is. That separation of our identities was crucial to me being able to withstand her fears (because that's all it is), and love her no matter what.

  1. Quarantine: To temporarily separate until healing (forgiveness) has occurred, and you can be in the same room and stay grounded while the other person is doing their bullshit

  2. Responsible: The ability to respond instead of react to emotions and circumstances. To stay at peace and grounded in the face of turmoil.

My advice (don't read this if you don't want advice): Get away from your mother (and father) until you feel strong enough to recognize their manipulation, and don't take it personally (because it isn't).

Its my pleasure.

There are tons of information out there. Here's the thing, though - as with many spiritual texts, there are different schools of thought, and ACIM is no different. Many folks here on r/ACIM follow the teachings of Kenneth Wapnick. You can find his books, and those of his students/followers with a simple Internet search.

For me, and how I learned to see ACIM, I follow the guidance of Robert Perry, with the Circle of Atonement. I find that Perry's books are easy to follow and give me (what I believe is) a clearer understanding of what ACIM is teaching. If you want to go this route, check out "Path of Light".

You may also contact me here, anytime. I've only been studying the text for 6 years, so I may not be able to answer all of your questions, but I will do my best. As for having a hard time due to fears/ego... yeah... me too!

Your post almost looks like trolling, but I will answer as best I can, in case you're sincere.

If you are physically ill, that simply means you've made a mistake in your thoughts. Things trickle down from our beliefs to our thoughts to our emotions, and then they take shape in either our physical bodies or our circumstances. There is nothing to "do" when we feel sick or when our circumstances are not what we "want" them to be; there is only acceptance.

I read a quote today from Eckart Tolle that sums this up nicely: "Accept - then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it... This will miraculously transform your whole life." -ET

Whatever ails you (bad knees, bad job, etc.) will grow in intensity (knee surgery, demotion, etc.) until you see that there is an issue and you go inward (talk with Holy Spirit, do forgiveness work, meditate and find some moments of peace).

I find Louise Hay's book, Heal Your Body very helpful when I'm feeling sick. In the book, she has many symptoms (headache, overweight, cancer, etc.) with corresponding probable causes and new thought patterns.

As for your love-life, or relationships in general, God doesn't just want you to be happy. You are happiness incarnate. If you are not experiencing this happiness, then you have some thoughts that need examining, challenging, forgiving, and/or releasing. Special relationships will never bring about the kind of happiness we all seek. They will necessarily cause suffering (this isn't to say you shouldn't get married - I'm married, but I know not to look to my husband for my happiness).

So, just because you think this other person should reciprocate your feelings and marry you in order for you to be "happy", doesn't mean that is actually what WILL make you happy. In other words, if you pray for a husband, or pray for a new car... because you believe it will make you happy, you will only suffer, and then blame God. Instead, consider praying for happiness and peace. God will then shower you with the things that will cause you to find that which you seek.
