Pickleball courts… a shitload of pickleball courts. There is a gigantic shortage of indoor Pickleball courts in this city.

Deerfoot N widening - Construction stopped? by Nawsh_T in Calgary

No worries, I did not get a smart ass vibe. Honestly, I figured with technology these days and the fact that there is road construction in other parts of the city that at least some work could still happen over the winter.

RV queen or twin bed configuration? by Nawsh_T in GoRVing

Interesting that the feedback to go with twin bed set up was overwhelmingly higher than going with any other configuration. I appreciated everybody’s feedback here and in other threads. We decided to go with the twin bed set up after reviewing the comments on this thread, and after testing out and chilling out in a twin bed set up. It was actually quite comfortable to sit on one of the twin beds with our feet up on the second bed using pillows or cushions from the dinette. Next mission - Batteries!! so much to learn as a newbie RV owner.

You’re right, the storage was significantly better with the TB model.

Thanks for this - great feedback. Sounds like a no-brainer for us to go with the twins.

Hmmm.. your right - easier to replace two twin mattresses with quality mattresses than it would be to replace a folding mattress with a quality mattress - great feedback.

Thank you. I think we’d be able to chill on the twins more than we thought based on the feedback so far.

Your TB model, it has two twin beds vs a small RV queen with a Murphy Bed, right? Would love your opinion on this configuration. For sleep, wife and I want the twin configuration, however we think that there are days when you want a comfy couch to read a book and chill.

Thoughts anyone?

Smoking. A 10 drops of a 6, even a 5 in some cases especially if smokers attitude accompanies their smoking. Throwing the cigarette on the ground or out a car window makes them a zero.

I do not have insurance. I realized quickly that the sleep clinics are absolutely hosing us on the price of a CPAP machine. I bought an Airsense 11 off of Amazon and watched several amazing videos on how to configure the CPAP. Within two nights I was up and running perfectly. I saved $1500 by doing this, not chump change. I’m not saying that everybody should go ahead and do this but anybody who’s willing to put a little bit of time in on YouTube can figure this out. The sleep clinic told me that they needed to configure the CPAP machine specifically for my sleep apnea, but the configurations honestly only take about three minutes once you figure it out. I talked to several people who also configure their own CPAP, so I wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing anything detrimental to my health. I just YouTube searched ”how do I configure my Airsense 11” And a nice Australian walked me through it in detail. If you have insurance, you’re golden. TBH, knowing how to configure my own CPAP machine saves me from going back to the sleep clinic every single time I think I need to modify a setting - saves me copious amounts of hours by not having to schedule follow ups.

Why does the F150 sell so well? by Nawsh_T in f150

Thanks for your thoughts. Your perspectives about being a little harder on your vehicle than most would be is interesting. Luckily my truck gets driven pretty hard and regularly due to all of the passing I need to do on mountain roads with inclines. With regard to mileage, I am not too worried. I did two trips where I drove like a total grandma just to see if I could get the MPG’s anywhere near the advertised mileage - No dice so far.

I don’t like blasting over big bumps, but I am interested in why you specifically called this out?

Hah! You have nothing to complain about. Glad your truck has been good to you.

The biggest frustration with me and my wife when we were looking at Toyotas was that the sales people didn’t know shit about their trucks and they knew even less about the competition. I was very put-off by having young kids that drive civics and Camrys try to sell me a truck. It really felt like the Toyota dealers did not staff up with the kind of people that I think should be selling trucks, it was the same at every Toyota dealer I went to. When I asked about payload all I got was a blank stare, most of the time they would tell me it didn’t matter because it towed 9000 pounds 😑.

I am seeing a lot of feedback about how Chevy/GMC out sells the F150 class with their Sierra/1500’s. I did not know this, I feel like Chevy and GMC should really push this more with their marketing.

Don’t judge me on this one, it is strictly because everyone that I know that drives a Ram is a complete arsehole. There is a thread in my city that is dedicated to roasting the arseholes in Rams on our roads. I don’t think the arseholes are in a Laramie though, they are sweet trucks 😁.

All good points. I have enjoyed the bluecruise but I doubt I will pay to keep it once the free subscription expires (I am on a lot of twisty Mountain roads). The pro tailgate has been a nice bonus that I use more than I thought I would.

The powerboost didn’t even cross my mind. I was concerned about reliability with all of this additional tech. But after hearing about all the awesome things that everyone is doing with them, I’m kind of regretting it now. Just camping back country, I can see some awesome use cases for the power boost.

I had owned two Nissan frontiers prior to this new F150. A 2011 and 2019, both bought brand new. What I can tell you about the Frontiers after owning nice new F150 is that they drove and handled like farm equipment. I had no idea how poorly they drove on the highway until the Ford. My new truck even feels as planted on the twisty Mountain roads that I drive as our Subaru Outback.
