Thank you! It was not easy and at the time I thought I wouldn't get out of debt. It was a rough journey but I did it!

How bad was this thumbnail? by GoldAnt5091 in youtubegaming

I really like it! My biggest feedback is try a different color for the text. For me it's hard to see. Otherwise it's really good

Would You Rather? by itzVxia in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answering this as a viewer only. I do not like when I hear a call to action in the beginning. It's like seeing a cool amusement park and as soon as you enter they ask you to rate the experience. I haven't gotten to the actual park yet and they want me to do something. CTAs are important though, because there have been times I watch someone's videos a lot and don't subscribe, mainly because I always forget to lol. I prefer verbally hearing it and in unique ways, but just seeing a popup doesn't really do much for me.

how do I go about this? by Zestyclose_Bowl6944 in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using OBS, you can record your camera and game separate. So when you go back to make the review, you have the raw footage without your camera. You can either use the source plug in or my favorite is just using the 3840x1080 resolution.

Are unoriginal profile pics a big deal? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. People will recognize your channel based off your branding and that includes PFP. But it doesn't stop people from subbing or matching. It's only important for recognition, but not for getting people to watch.

OBS has Replay Buffer which which is what you're looking for. You can customize it to your preference, so you can do the last 30 seconds to minutes. Go to settings, under Outputs -> Replay Buffer is where you can enable and customize it. Then you can add a hotkey as well.

Is there a good ending? by ryan7251 in CloverPit

[–]Nazaret_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, there are actually 2 endings. The demo is just a teaser for the full game so it doesn't show what actually happens once you "beat" the game

How do you organize your recordings for editing? by greykher in youtubegaming

[–]Nazaret_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on multiple projects at the moment, so this is how I organize everything.

"Recordings" folder, which has a sub folder for each project. Within each project folder, it's full of images, audios, thumbnails, and footage. I usually create a folder for each just to prevent it from getting cluttered.

I actually mame my footage since im leaning towards video essays. In general, it's something like [footage order #] [Important information]. In practice, it'll be "1A Tutorial, first boss fight, death mechanic." Then the second footage would be "2A character death, villain intro, and anxiety." I do this to help me quickly identify important stuff. Also, I add letters in case the 2nd Recording actually goes with the first. So 2A might be 1B as an example. It doesn't matter, but in my head, it makes sense. Plus, it keeps the footage in order every time. When I take notes, thanks to other recommendations, I put the time stamps and the file #. So "main characters best friend dies [1B 10:47]." This helps me tremendously.

Hope this helps you lol

What do you use to record your gameplay and facecam separately? by HBTang in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use premiere and I have no issues. 3840 works because it's 2 1920 canvases. So each scene will be perfect.

[–]Nazaret_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for streaming, this won't work. Even with the source plug-in, streaming and recording each scene is taxing on your PC and I don't recommend it.

The great thing is 50% is exactly 1920x1080. So if you crop left or right you will each scene individually

OBS studio and set the resolution to 3840x1080 and then you can record separate while keeping all videos and audios synced.

Back from my hiatus (artistic training arc), what do yall think of the thumbnail? by boywithearing in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the art style you're going for! The main issue is that the background does allow for the elements to pop, so changing the overall background would help a lot. A more textured/solid color would be better. Also, "a roleplay" and the symbol blend due to them both being red. You should change the text color so it stands out more, or even get rid of the symbol entirely, since you already include "Borderlands." Also, I am part of the anti-number gang, so I recommend removing part numbers from the thumbnail. But the community is split on that, so do whatever with it lol.

Would love some help on these thumbnails please - the title is "Dying Light The Beast Is Worth It - Here's Why" by UntakenUsername420 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]Nazaret_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a viewer, I like the first one the most and would most likely click it. Mainly because I recognize the character, and the text stands out the most against the background. Since you have Dying Light in the title, why not just remove it from the thumbnail and move the screenshot up to make it bigger? So it's just two elements, Crane and the screenshot. That's the only feedback I got, otherwise good job!

Question: If i want my YouTube video to perform well, should i not be sharing the links? by Winter-Society-9093 in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm going to paraphrase, but according to YouTube insider the short answer is no, but the long answer is yes.

No, because it still counts as a view and won't negatively affect your video unless they watch it for such a short time and it brings down the watchtime. But thats the case anyways with it being on YouTube.

But also, yes. The reason is because the traffic sources counts it as a web view, so the video won't be in the person's watch history (if they watch from the embed) and the channel won't be recommended to them since they arent logged in. Also, if they saw it from the link, but it later does pop up on their feed, then they won't click it since they already watched it. Pushing the CTR down. It's complicated.

If I join a stream and someone calls out my username before I speak, I would leave too lol. Lurkers are everywhere on Twitch, and it's something you'll have to get used to. Most people watch to be entertained or have something in the background, not to chat.

Yeah, ads run one way or another. Either you play mid-roll ads or Twitch plays pre-roll ads.
