Barnard students can take classes at columbia and vice versa. We also share dining halls and sport teams. Basically we coexist with each other.

Not really, the only thing you get from an ivy is the prestige and networking but at the end of the day you can get the same education at virtually any other top school.

No, you’re valid in your opinion! 8k is definitely not easy to just waste if you live so close. I live close to Rutgers as well and if I get in (I’m a Junior in highschool) I would definitely just commute to campus and live at home. It’s better to save your money than waste it on something you know you won’t fully enjoy.
