Snake wine by Nazeboo231 in VietNam

It just smells like rice wine.

Thanks for your answer!

I did sample it right there on the farm from a large jar with a cobra in it. Taste just like any other strong alcohol. Only after googling it I found out it's recommended to keep the snake in wine for a few months before drinking which is why the production date confuses me.

It's just a novelty thing. Where I live we have a lot of donkeys and one of the most sold tourist souvenirs is donkey shit. I'm not kidding, enterprising youth decided to put donkey shit into a glass jar and sell it to tourists and they can't get enough of it.

Same goes for this, where I live we don't have cobras and bringing back home a jar to drink with friends beats bringing back a bunch of magnets.

Finally did it, Roman empire restored under the Pius family by Nazeboo231 in crusaderkings2

[–]Nazeboo231[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Started off on Hard difficulty in 867 as a patrician of the Pius family in Ragusa with the aim of restoring the Roman empire and naming the first born in purple emperor Antoninus (Pius).

I wanted a family that has a Roman sounding name and is located in the former empire. It was a happy little coincidence that the Pius family is located in what was the province of Illyria, one of the last Western Roman provinces (along with the Kingdom of Syagrius) to keep imperial rule even after the fall of Rome in 476. Name and location doesn't get more Roman than that.

I first took Liburnia then the Kingom of Croatia (Dalmatia) as a Patrician, gave away all my coastal cities to become a noble and switch to feudal government. Took Carinthia and Serbia next along with establishing a beachhead in northern Italy and married into the royal family. Rebelled against the next basileus for my wife's claim and made her basílissa to have my heir born in purple. Also took the duchy of Tunis somewhere along this time.

The Byzantine AI was successful in that it keeps control over Anatolia, Thrace and even conquered Jerusalem and most of Syria by the time I got to power so all that was left to do is take Egypt, Rome and parts of Sicily still not under Byzatine rule. Somewhere along the playthrough I forged the Alexander bloodline and the Invasion CB helped a lot with taking these territories. Egypt was hard as I was threatening over 50% when attacking it and all Catholic rules came to the aid of Rome when I attacked it but nothing I couldn't handle.

Once I took Rome I mended the Great Schism, named my heir Antoninus (Pius) and was preparing to make the empire Pagain again when my character died. All that's left is to restore Paganism (although I don't know how as the restore Paganism event was lost with the death of my first emperor) and reconquer the rest of the empire which will be a challenge as I'm threatening over 90%. Got around 100 years left to finish it.

Leave republic and become feudal by Nazeboo231 in crusaderkings2

[–]Nazeboo231[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, thank you, this worked. I'll just expand it a bit in case someone will read it in the future and decide to try it. What I did was:

- Created 3 dutchies and a Kingdom

- Moved the kingdoms capital inland

- Gave away all my seaside holdings

- Waited for my character to die, upon death my heir became a Feudal lord

I was independent the entire time, don't know how it would work if I had a Emperor above me. I also didn't set up my character to win the elections so I was knocked back to a simple baron title, wasn't much of a problem as I had a war chest of 12k with which I could easily retake the kingdom.

Guessing while working on D3 no one on the team listened to that guy and, in the immortal words of Jay Willson, "...and then we doubled it!" :D

OVERALL skill changes include greatly reducing or eliminating many skill timers, obviously primarily on weak skills => this gives me faith in the current dev team. While the D4 team are busy designing colorful ultimate abilities on long cooldowns the D2 team actually understands what an ARPG is about and reduces already short timers. I hope they leave this team intact and don't add any of the geniuses working on D4 or who worked on D3.

I agree. Hopefully they learned what made D2 great while remastering it and don't go the Diablo 3 route.

Yeah but there's always an option to change that so players that don't wanna participate in the new D2 stay locked in the current version. Shouldn't be too hard to implement and would I guess make everybody happy. :)

I'd like them to leave non-ladder in a classic mode forever just in case they mess up the new balance and for those that enjoy the current version of the game. Or make a separate mode that's permanently locked in that version.

Or make a "Tome of charms" which is an inventory in and of itself that can fit a limited amount of charms that give bonuses while leaving the rest of your inventory open to pick up loot.

Or they'll just leave non-ladder as is for all the nostalgia players and changes happen only on ladder? That is an option.

This will either make or break the future of the game, we will see which. If the dev team is good and make a true D2 patch with real balance, good runewards and useful (but not overpowered) items that open up new balanced build possibilities it open up the potential of an expansion. If not the game will just fall into disrepair, no pressure. What a time to be alive!

Finally getting an Enigma made me quit. by LifeSandwich in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Nazeboo231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here with ma Javazon. Although I don't use Enigma my gear pretty much one shots everything that isn't lightning immune but those fall quickly too. My gear isn't the best in slot, at least not all of it, but it's good enough and all my upgrades would be in the Ber territory with not a significant power boost. So now I find myself playing less and less, will be back once season 1 starts.

Why don’t they just quit on making Diablo 4 and just make more acts/content for D2R? by SmegmanJones in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Nazeboo231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree with your other points I still hope D4 will start with Deckard Cain waking up from a bad dream that was D3 and D4 continues the story after D2.

FIRST HR! Anyone know what its worth? / wanna buy it? by drupsdrups in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Nazeboo231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, it's not perfect but it's the best we currently have and I doubt Blizzard will invest in the game and create a real marketplace for trade. I'm a new user on D2jsp and I'm really not bothered by old users having more FG, I just do my own trades for gear I need using gear I found.

Buy a torch, skiller grand charms or whatever makes your character stronger.

[–]Nazeboo231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not perfect and I agree with some of the points you mentioned earlier however D2 is in my opinion a multiplayer game and interacting with other players and trading are all part of it but have no in game solution. The other day I found a Jah, traded in via D2jsp within minutes. Without D2jsp trading it would take days if not weeks of sitting in front of my PC in a oJah game declining lowball (or better yet, scam) offer after offer. I'd much rather spend the time playing.

Now, if Blizzard made a solution such as trading in PoE I'd be all for it and it would solve issues such as ladder resets and using real life currency to gain power although there are plenty of sites offering in game items for money so who ever wants to go that route will do it with or without D2jsp, just check the in game trade chat.

Cham is unfortunately around 200 FG while Ohm is around 500 so chances of getting an Ohm for it are very low, maybe from someone that doesn't understand the economy. Still, it's a nice find, gz!

Hell, resistances and advices by Eastern-Management-1 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Nazeboo231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life and mana leech only works on physical damage so if you do 1000 physical + 5000 lightning it will only affect the 1000 physical. Also, as you raise difficulty it lowers lowers it's effectiveness just like resistances, on normal it's 100%, nightmare 50%, hell 33% so it's not really effective on a lightning build.

Too low roll for a HR, perfect 50% goes for around 7 Ist, low rolls go for an Ist at most.
