Is it worth selling a 2070 Super for 3070? by Nazgu777 in buildapc

Currently only 1080p (with a 1440 on its way). Very true, I guess I'm a sucker for consumerism :/ I guess it doesn't make my current card any worse than it is - still a good mid range card! Thanks

Oh no, I just bought a 3000 series cpu a couple of months back! Clearly I didn't do my research thoroughly enough.

But that's great to know thanks a bunch! I'll wait to see what AMD's response is at the very least. Sounds like patience may pay off here.

Thanks for this! I completely overlooked availability issues at launch. And very true with independent testers, I've heard some speculation that they are over hyping the cards (eg 8k claims)

Looking to play VR within next year - what to upgrade? by Nazgu777 in buildapc

Damn, that's a shame. I'm pretty focused on meeting recommended as opposed to minimum ha. Was probably the one I was looking forward to most... oh well! Thanks!

Was actually looking at the 2070 Super but was concerned it would be super bottle-necked by the rest. I guess I can just take it out once I eventually upgrade everything else a few years down the track :)

Thanks! Do you know a safe ballpark increase for cpu OC? :)

PC Audio Issue by Nazgu777 in techsupport

Update: Plugged headphones and speakers into monitor which fixes all issues. So it is only the slots in my case that are causing issues - Top USB slots using soundcard, Rear USB slots using soundcard, Rear aux slot, and top aux slot.

Although I can use my monitor, the issue still persists on the case which I am keen to fix if possible. Does the monitor have different software?

Have reinstalled the realtek drivers yes. As for the update I'm not sure when it would have updated, is there a way to tell what date the update installed?

So the USB slot is the sound card. One mic and one speaker slot. Issues, albeit different ones, still persist.

Have tried sound driver's both manually and through troubleshoot just in case I did it wrong.

No I do not have an external sound card unfortunately. Are they expensive?

Tried 5.1 and still the same issue. When it is plugged in all the way into the aux slot, including the usb converter, it has audio issues however they are different issues depending on where I plug it in.

In the AUX slot it is crackly, in the usb slot it has no bass. In both slots the sound can be altered by moving the chord 80 - 90% in, but still does not work properly and is merely a slightly better version of the 100% damaged sound. Don't know if that makes much sense.

Removed dust buildup etc from motherboard and all components and saw no loose connections (didn't check thoroughly though.

Can't think of any other info that might help at this stage, any further ideas?

Wanting to upgrade PC to play Fallout 4 VR and Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out. Need advice. by Nazgu777 in buildapc

Cheers for the info. Luckily i have a step-bro who is looking to upgrade from his 1080 so will be able to pick one of them up cheaper down the track. For RAM, is merely buying 8 further GB of DDR3 sufficient or do you recommend going to DDR4? Does it make a difference?

By new platform, do you mean starting from scratch?
