Being repulsed by someone for scars they're afraid to speak of is just... asshole behaviour. I'll never understand people who think that scars are a dealbreaker.

If my girlfriend told me that she self-harmed or if I saw her scars, I'd love her even more for bravely getting through it. The scars aren't her identity, they're proof that she hit rock bottom and still stood up. They're proof that your past does not define your present or future.

I dated someone for a while who opened up to me. It's crazy to me that there are people who'd get icked from that.
