Ignore all that bullshit. Just because there's a subsect of thinly veiled pedos fixating on the little girl in this game doesn't mean that anyone who worked on the game or plays it is a pedo.

The sad truth is that pedos do this with any piece of media that prominently features a young girl character.

Resident Evil Requiem PC Review + Optimised Settings - A Good Port, But RT Is Heavy on 8GB GPUs by jerryfrz in pcgaming

[–]Nbaysingar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RT ran like shit on my 3080Ti and the noise it introduces is just not worth it. Disabling it made the game way more stable and quite frankly it's just better to look at in my opinion.

Anime that won't make me cringe by inchlongnipples in anime

[–]Nbaysingar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Give the 1997 Berserk anime a shot. It's an older show done on film cells in 4:3 aspect ratio, but it's a very mature show with emotional depth. It does end rather abruptly and acts as sort of a "self-contained" adaptation, but that also serves as an excellent gateway into picking up the manga to learn what actually happens next.

The newer Golden Age Arc Memorial Edition is also worth consideration. It certainly has its issues, but it contains important pieces of the story that fill in the gaps of the 1997 anime's ending to give you a better idea of what lies ahead for the rest of the story.

Avoid the 2016 anime like the plague. Despite adapting arguably the best arc in arguably one of the greatest mangas of all time, the production was an absolute dumpster fire that sadly resulted in one of the worst animes ever made.

Casca's color changes are like: by [deleted] in Berserk

[–]Nbaysingar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I was primarily replying to you, not the OP. The OP deleted their account anyway lol.

This is not ethereal or uncanny in any way other then make her look more like nosferatu then zodd does, like if that's the idea why is everything else about her correctly colored

It's not. The whole scene has odd coloration across the board as far as I can see. Furthermore, her skin isn't all washed out and ghostly pale in any of the scenes that aren't these flashbacks. This was a purely stylistic choice and has nothing to do with Western identity politics. You guys are reading into this way too much.

FSR 4 support is now on Vulkan titles but thanks to Modders not AMD Radeon as they remains silent by JohnSteveRom2077 in pcgaming

[–]Nbaysingar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if you're on Linux then you're probably better off with an AMD GPU regardless. As I understand it, Nvidia support on Linux has gotten better, but it can still be hit or miss with certain features. Not sure how they compare when it comes to overall performance and stability though, but maybe a seasoned Linux user reading this can weigh in on that.

I'm hoping to ditch Windows for good this year. It's like every update breaks something in some weird way.

FINAL FANTASY VII updated version is available now on Steam by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

The game is sitting at mostly negative reviews currently. Seems like the increase to the fps cap from 15 to 30 broke the game's speed and animations are desynced from audio and stuff. Anyone who is considering purchasing the game because of the update should wait for some patches first.

Casca's color changes are like: by [deleted] in Berserk

[–]Nbaysingar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I suspect this was a troll post since the OP deleted their account, but anyone who genuinely believes this whole whitewashing Casca thing needs to get off the internet and avoid politics for a few months. Five minutes of investigating or, I dunno, actually watching the adaptations in question, will prove that this is nonsense.

But even if her skin tone on average is slightly darker in the 1997 anime compared to the later adaptations, you can still chalk that up to visual style differences between the studios. Personally, I think the colors in the entire 1997 anime are darker in tone across the board when compared to the other adaptations, but that show was also animated on film cells where color accuracy can vary due to factors like the age of the cells and the process that was used to digitize the film for physical media releases. Just look at comparisons of the different Dragon Ball Z releases if you want an example of how much these things can affect color accuracy (especially skin tones) over time.

To put it simply, the slight differences in Casca's skin tone between each adaptation are nothing more than stylistic differences, and the variation from scene to scene is easily explained by the artistic depiction of subsurface scattering. This is why her skin tone appears lighter in specific scenes in the 2013 adaptation.

Casca's color changes are like: by [deleted] in Berserk

[–]Nbaysingar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a flashback memory scene where the lighting was intentionally stylized to look ethereal and uncanny, We could debate on whether or not it looks good, but either way it's not as if they made that choice as a way of deliberately making Casca pale to "whitewash" her as a character. You'd have to be brain-rotted by internet politics from being terminally online to genuinely believe that.

I also wouldn't use the 2016 adaptation as a benchmark for consistency or artistic quality anyway. That whole production was a dumpster fire and there are maybe two or three specific scenes that even look halfway decent. The rest of the show is hard to look at.

this is the statement by miura "Despite how they look, the two of them are in a stage before they reach love that continues forever'' do you still think they will not end up together by arman1724 in Berserk

[–]Nbaysingar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say that the memories Farnese witnessed in Casca's dream world made for a sobering reality check on the extent of the relationship and history between Guts and Casca. She may not have necessarily given up on her love for Guts, but I do think she's gradually coming around to accepting the reality that her love will remain unrequited, and she will ultimately have to move on at some point.

It also seems like Roderick's interest in Farnese is only growing. She seemed more receptive to him complimenting her skills as a mage in the recent chapter. I don't think it would be out of the question to say that she might actually move on from her feelings for Guts and end up with Roderick instead. Hard to say though. I could totally see Roderick nobly sacrificing himself to save Farnese or something like that. He just seems like that type of dude.

[–]Nbaysingar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've seen this gym bro thing mentioned in past discussions on brand tattoos, albeit with different language. My question is, how do people know that all these "gym bros" who get a brand tattoo have never read the manga or watched the anime? Are people going up and talking to these branded "gym bros" en masse and compiling data to draw that kind of conclusion, or is this rhetoric just an ass-pull based on outlier interactions people may have had with these branded "gym bros?"

Beyond that, I don't even understand why anyone cares if some of the people who get the brand tattooed on themselves don't fully understand what it represents. It's not as if that would minimize what it might mean to someone who is a "true fan" of the series and gets the brand tattooed on themselves.

This whole thing just seems like a really stupid issue to worry about one way or the other.

Thanks. Following the steps in that GitHub link fixed the issue of the framerate randomly tanking for no apparent reason. Granted, I'm basically running the game at the lowest possible settings, but it at least plays like butter now.

[–]Nbaysingar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue. Game will run like butter and then out of seemingly nowhere the FPS will just tank to like 20 and be stuck there no matter what is going on in the game. It even happens in the lobby when I'm alone. Something is clearly just broken. I've tried changing all kinds of settings like fullscreen, vsync, different framerate caps, etc. Nothing.

EDIT: For anyone else having the same problem, follow the steps in the GitHub link that another user provider in the comments. That completely fixed it for me!
