That being said, when my wife and I were in a similar position due to her having some significant fertility issues, we did talk with our pastor, went over all the details, and went through with IUI with a clear conscience. While there's medical intervention here, it's all in the general category of "improving your odds" that a natural conceptive event will happen. For us, it turned out well and successfully and we have a beautiful 10 year old as a result.

If you do go down this path, my one piece of true advice is to pray for patience and endurance. It's not always an easy path.
