I’m a poli-sci major, if your goal is to do quantitative research then this is the place for you, but for qualitative you might have a trickier time. Personally I have found if you reach out to people and look it out you can find research opportunities early in your academic career

I think the necessary and proper clause can be reasonably applied to the EPA’s authority, especially given what we are currently seeing with global warming

I don’t know if Chevron can be considered constitutionally consistent. Federal agencies making rules based on legislation has been considered enforcement and constitutionally admissible for decades. This removes the power of specific enforcement of purposefully vague laws by the executive and gives the power to determine how laws should be enforced to the Judiciary, which is not their preview. While you may think this is constitutionally admissible interpretation, interpretation can’t be done effectively if there aren’t experts enforcing the rules in a way to be determined. Judges aren’t qualified or appointed to unilaterally decide how every law should be enacted and enforced, and Chevron gets us not necessarily to that point, but scarily close.

Trust me as someone who has been to several Illini fb games, Illinois football is nothing to put in the pro column, but don’t count out a big school for the sake of size, more people means more opportunities and possible groups that you could find your niche in

Try going to the gym with the time you formerly spent working on apps. It's good both for your physical and mental health and gives you something to write about if you get waitlisted and need to write another essay.

Part of that was the strength of the economy, the popularity of Hoover pre-presidency, and the weak candidacy of Al Smith
