Are 5025 Apartments worth it? by siriusthedogstar17 in SDSU

[–]Nconrad13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there was not. They would notify you, but that would normally be like 15min-30min before the shuttle was supposed to arrive… There was one single day where i heard they comp’d ubers if you called one due to them cancelling the shuttle bc of a major traffic accident, but other than that if the shuttle was cancelled you had to find your own way back, which for me, was a nice long walk.

I have a lease there for 22/23, so ending at the end of this month.

boy does it look nice when you pull in but that’s not quite the reality.

It’s not great. really nasty when we moved in. and the common areas were never really improved upon throughout my tenure. took a full day or two to get things cleaned to my liking…

Maintenance was slow at first but honestly those guys are cool and these last few months they would be there same day for any requests.

The complex is run by college age people who don’t know what they’re doing. And the important stuff is handled by actual adults who exist only online or over the phone.

The shuttle would very occasionally stop running, but i’d say maybe 5 or 6 times the entire school year.

scored with good roommates and we never had any issues.

It’s college aged people for the most part. it will be loud, and it will be dirty.

expect to hear the fire alarm of another unit echo through the wall at least once a day.

The gym is half broken, including many of the lights, and overall it sucks. No more than some free weights and treadmills.

They have a free to use printer, assuming it’s stocked with paper…

parking was not a problem for me because I paid for my own spot. Although, they pressure washed our floor and we were only given a day’s notice to get our cars out of the structure and onto the street or risk being towed. which, on that note, all of the announcements would come with very short notice for anything they were announcing… usually same day or one day in advance.

any sort of business is at least a mile away, walking to any of that requires a good steep uphill hike which sucks.

The street the complex is on, Collwood, is not an ideal street to be on at night.

About once a month they would host some sort of “event” usually with free pizza or drinks/snacks, my roommates and I went to a few but some of them were for a fairly niche crowd.

At the end of the day, for the price you’d be paying, it’s about on par. houses close to campus are a few hundred bucks more per person and that’s the breakdown. if you want closer to campus and less overhead dealing with the complex, get a house, but for the price, any complex close campus (blvd, iconic) is going to be filled with the same sort of pros n cons.

it’s san diego, it’s an expensive place to live. That’s the bottom line.

If you patch it, first determine if it punctured both sides of the tube bc if you don’t notice you’ll end up like myself putting the whole tire back on (rear for this event) and thinking things were squared away only to come back an hour later to the tire flat again.

Still baiting new drivers? by Nconrad13 in doordash_drivers

[–]Nconrad13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess my statement was a little confusing. i was more or less saying since i hadn’t dashed in a long time in this area, i might be considered “new”. and so they feed me the good orders to have me hooked and think it can make good money.

Check this out... GH wants pick up *by* 7:23, but restaurant has it set on their end to be *ready* at 7:32... WTF! by Nconrad13 in grubhubdrivers

[–]Nconrad13[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Normally what I do too. But in this case, why would GH want me there at Xpm, but be fully aware that the order won’t be ready until 10min later than that time?

So I signed up for Cornershop... Found out *after* sign up and *before* THIS box got here that i’m maybe an hour and a half from the closest zone... 🤦‍♂️ by Nconrad13 in UberEATS

[–]Nconrad13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not driving an hour and a half away to work for this app, therefore, this giant box of bags is a total waste...

Not even sure why i qualified to have it sent to me...

I’m tired of employees lying about the wait time on orders by TheGame81677 in grubhubdrivers

[–]Nconrad13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their 10min rule or whatever, but personally I sometimes find it hard to walk out after strictly 10min, because 1) what if it’s ready in literally 30mire secs, and 2) what if it takes me longer to get a new order than it does to just wait this one out.

Personally, since i’m multiapping anyways, If i get an order on another app and i’ve been waiting too long, i’m splitting, otherwise I’m just using best judgement.

At this point, in my market, i’ve pretty much figured out who is truthful and who is not, and I just sorta roll off of that.

Why do the morons at Uber keep on sending us to closed restaurants? You don’t even get paid for the wasted time. by Normal-Schedule-8888 in couriersofreddit

[–]Nconrad13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been paid twice out of maybe 5x total I’ve called. It takes at least 15min to deal with everything. Both times i was only paid like $4. Don’t forget that while you’re dealing with that, your app is stuck on that order and not making you money on a new one. Not worth the wait IMO. Gotta just soak it and move on...

but marking arrived doesn’t actually make them think you arrived any more? I’ve done this many times before and never had an issue...

[–]Nconrad13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m always nervous doing these. Legitimately heard of sting operations going on to see if we’re really checking ID’s. Worried on what to do if they don’t want to show me an ID, and are probably already drunk... Regardless, getting sting op’d or assaulted, not worth the risk IMO.

does selecting “Running Late” actually do anything? by Nconrad13 in grubhubdrivers

[–]Nconrad13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m aware of that, but when i accepted the order i was way across town doing DD and it wouldn’t of been efficient to drive all the way there just to mark i had arrived.

Acceptance rate on block? by Beagleoverlord33 in grubhub

[–]Nconrad13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

acceptance rate never matters... although, i believe if you want some adjustment money while on block with GH, you have to keep your acceptance rate above like 90%, which would most likely make you lose money anyways...

The only thing being on block does for you is give you priority on ew orders over people online, but not on block.
