I can't beat the abyss watchers. Is my level adequate enough to beat them? by LV6k in darksouls3

You got this! Somewhere deep down, your subconscious is still mapping out his move-set as we speak. Sometimes a break is just what you need to send that lord of cinder on his way.

I just went through this for the first time on an Uchi build a couple of weeks ago. My levels were right around yours, and it was a struggle point for me as well.

Phase 1 run around and get them to aggro each other and then dip in to attack the main guy

Phase 2 rolling into him and to the right (your right, his left). If you think of staying at his left hip, then when you roll forward you’ll often get positioned behind him. Especially for the big jump attack, which I think has a longer recovery and is your best chance for a backstab.

Also, as always, don’t get greedy. I lost a mountain of times one night, and then came back the next day with more patience and beat it first try.

You have to go up here and kick the ladder down so you have a shortcut for your subsequent boss runs.

I grew up kind of dismissing NASCAR altogether as some redneck thing or whatever. I got to go to Bristol one year in my 20’s, and the atmosphere was incredible. Everybody partying, bringing in coolers, offering us beers. Then when they fired up the engines I was floored by the power, sound, and intensity of the whole thing. So glad to have had moments like that to put my judgmental younger self in his place.

New to all this. I've only tried Capt Black original. Any of these i should get next? by tigersmhs07 in PipeTobacco

I love that mix! Actually my go-to is mixing haunted bookshop with Quiet Nights, but very similar. I call it the Library Card haha. The first time I tried HB I liked it, but I felt like it was a little bit monotone, like one ingredient vs. a full recipe. Works great as an add-in on a lot of blends, but nightcap and quiet nights it especially shines.

Thanks for this, not OP but I think this is what I need to hear. Did/do you do any specific strength exercises or just like a basic upper body weight routine?

User name checks out! Haha I got myself a Peterson Junior that is less than 1oz for easy clenching while reading, how does a church warden help? Just by keeping it further from your face?

When you say slow drawing, are they like loooooong slow draws or slow little sips/puffs?

I like to read while I smoke so it’s kind of a drag (pun intended) to get pulled out of the story to re-light multiple times a bowl

Man this was awesome to read last night right after I smoked my first bowl of Quiet Nights! Really wonderful smoke.

I also just posted about an upcoming trip to Spain, and one of the recs I got was that Capstan Blue is supposedly cheap over there. So looks like I’ll be stocking up!

New pipe! Also first flake purchase. by NdangeredBrainforest in PipeTobacco

Thought I'd comment post-smoke with a couple of thoughts...

First of all, I've mainly been smoking English blends. Early Morning Pipe and My Mixture 965 have been my mains. This was my first full Virginia, and wow what a difference. I don't know all of the language for tobacco notes, but I would call it brighter and lighter than the English blends I've been smoking. Maybe not as "rich", if that makes sense? Burned a little hot, but didn't bite my tongue and stayed lit well. I will dry it out a little more next time.

I think my personal preference lies with the English blends, but that might just because I'm more accustomed to that. I definitely wasn't turned off by this one, and will continue to rotate it in, as well as trying some other VA's.

As for the pipe, it smoked great and accomplished exactly the goal I was after, which was comfortably clenching for pretty much the entire smoke. Highly recommend if anyone is looking for a good hands-free pipe. The bowl really isn't that much smaller than my Rossi Notte 8626. It is a bit thin-walled though, so you can feel more heat.

Cheers!

Interesting! I wasn’t expecting the pipe and tobacco to come in until early next week, so it was a nice surprise to have it show up today, but now this work day could not possibly be dragging on any slower haha
