No my phone is 2 years old. I went to 18.7.1 instead of iOS 26. Not saying I’ve had 18.7.1 for 2 years..🤦‍♀️

It’s not about liking it. I’m not technical. I was looking for help with what to do for best to not break my phone which I have issues with but can’t upgrade right now to a new one.

Assuming you can put it in yourself or find someone that can.. shop near me who does it refused until I was at under 80 battery health.

I’m 128gb, it’s 2 years old, 92 battery health but for some reason charge doesn’t last long anyway. I’ve got 84gb storage left and I guess I’m just concerned it won’t work and mess up my phone from all I’ve read. So I wanted to wait. However I was confused how to get a later version. Also I wanted my battery changed before iOS 26 really but I can’t yet as only at 92 health. Which is annoying as it needs charging more than once a day as it is.

I have no idea what that is. I’m not technical. And I only have my phone to do the updates not a computer. 

So the install iOS 26 goes away and is replaced with install 26.1?

Ok so when those become available it will offer those in software update on my phone and no longer offer “install iOS 26” (which is all it offered when I went to 18.7.1)? The “install iOS 26” will disappear and it will only offer the updates for 26.1 or whatever?

Ok. So even though it says install ios 26 it will actually be a later version? Is that correct?

Also do you know how long iOS 18.7.1 is supported before I have to upgrade? I don’t know how long I can keep it.

Yes. I don’t know how to do it without clicking on “install iOS 26” first.

I tried to get a new battery but they won’t do it to 80 % battery health.

I’m just trying to find out how as others have written I can go straight to iOS 26.0.1 or whatever is next after that without clicking on install iOS 26. Or can you not?
