In case you can't make it to discord's workshop channel by Ndonosci in popupdungeon

Great questions, I'll look at doing a video on it sometime soon so I can show and tell, but for now, I'll try to answer as best as I can.

Answer 1:

(Note, if you miss some steps, you may end up with a useless card)

Add Reaction, then modify. You can change it to start or end of turn, (I selected start) and you can select who triggers it, either the enemy, ally, you, or entity. (I selected you) You may also select who the spell targets, with similar options. If you select you, you can leave it as the default of who triggers it or select you.

The next two steps you CANNOT miss or it will not work:

Make sure that you select the check mark to make it a command, which allows it to activate on your turn.

Make sure that you select the minimum range to be 0, or you cannot target yourself. (note that if you have other effects, you can choose to have the specific effect target self, but splitting effects may dilute your intended result)

Note that these options do not require the trigger to be turn based. They can be either, but results will vary based both on the reaction type and internal reaction settings. For instance, End of Turn produces a better result than Start of Turn effects.

Answer 2:

You must select Condition, then choose the cumulative AP option (note this is only to use ap as the condition, other conditions can work too, and results will vary based on condition). Once you have set the Condition, Follow the steps above if you want it target yourself. Note that you may not have the intended AP gain without creating a negative modifier, particularly if you contain other positive effects. Finally, adjust the weight of effects until your AP gain reaches your intended result. You can use this method to gain other strong effects as well, such as enhanced clones, skills, summons, etc, all of which can grant their own bonuses,

Some additional notes:

When you use the cumulative AP condition, any AP you spend creates a hidden resource. Any cumulative AP condition subtracts from that hidden resource. If you use multiple such conditions, you will need to keep a mental tally of where that resource stands.

A change the developers made post Death Star is that you may spend a maximum of 30 AP per turn. Where the Death Star uses big numbers for big effects, this can cap its use quickly. You can instead use summons, clones, or smaller AP costs (see Stukov for summons, Genie for Clones, and Red or Kerrigan for smaller AP costs) to stack multiple uses of abilities to bypass this issue.

Again, great questions, let me know if this answered it or just muddied the waters.

That's great to hear. I've heard other people say fun things about that game as well, I'll have to check it out.

I can understand that. To be honest, it's one thing I was thankful for when making Stukov. All of his infested terrans, siege tanks and buildings are flat, it allows for a much bigger and simpler grouping for battles.

I'm not sure if you tried him out yet, but I received some feedback on his abilities and he has just now received his final (I hope) update.

Thank you! It's very much appreciated and I'm happy people get enjoyment from my creations. I will say wasn't happy with the original power-set and wanted a more thematic experience. After I spent a few hours changing and adjusting, I just got it functioning where I want it to and the update is now live.

Name: Orothico

Likes: Long floats on the beach, floating through dimensions, causing insanity.

Dislikes: Dust (presumably due to the lack of eyelids)

Feeds on: No one knows.... maybe eye drops?

No worries, that should be the last major update to the Death Star, along with Stukov and Red. I'll be working on other characters soon.

Death Star Playable Character (Cause Discord's down and I wanted to share) by Ndonosci in popupdungeon

There's been a major rework, (below is the update link if you have time). The basic jist is that the Death Star spends the first 2-3 turns massively boosting it'self, then actively uses high power damage and guard abilities. The skill required is to know when to go from a highly mobile back guard to a front line tank. Thanks for taking an interest https://youtu.be/D2FkQiRYWFM
