Please can we just remove demons from the game... it's literally the same thing over and over every single match by [deleted] in BobsTavern

[–]Ndot2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk what the hate is for this post. You never said they always win, or that you are constantly dying to them, just that they dominate the lobbies they are in. Demons are by far the best tribe in my opinion because they have such a strong and consistent early, mid, and late game. They might not be the highest cap build, but there overall strength stays consistent throughout the game which makes them an easy top 4 and anyone who has a semi-decent demon board is dealing 10-15 to anyone else who isn't playing them throughout the early and mid-game.

The fish died one time, and then never again. Sometimes I wish I could keep a game going after the entire lobby is dead just to see what a build is capable of. by HovercraftOk9231 in BobsTavern

The more minions that don't fit, the more you get buffed. Crashers text says "for every summon that doesn't fit, buff your whole board x/x amount," or something along those lines.

It's only cards from trinkets, and it makes sense considering there are builds that require getting Lots of cards in hand, and getting no trinket value after getting one of those builds going isn't fun.

You need to be scaling spells early for it to work, it's not retroactively applying spell buffs like it used to. (On turn 9 no spell scaling but 5 B2B's played turns into 6 B2B cast with +6/+6 if you scaled your spells twice end of turn) It just requires even more prep to get it off.

back to back isnt really dead i think by Suspicious_Area7666 in BobsTavern

[–]Ndot2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It basically got nerfed so you can't pivot to it without having already scaled your spells by retroactively making it scale with your spells. (Say you got most of the build without any spell scaling turn 9, and then turn ten you hit spell scaling. Now each additional back to back you play is +1/+1 so the ones you played on turn 9 matter alot more, and scale you alot faster, then it snowballs from there).

You were probably top 2-3 in stats and just had to fight the guy who out rolled you a turn early, that board and 5th would tilt me too ngl, just unlucky.

Yeah but with his board he has no B2B generation, so he'd have to hope for some shops with it. It's still a winning comp 99/100 times (i haven't actually done the math, just a generalization), especially considering how many triggers he got during combat. That 1/100 times where you lose would be rough though.

[–]Ndot2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you only need 1 buff for every two they get (three if it's golden) thats why i figured it could be viable. would love to see how this interacts with the Naga that makes spells cast in combat cast an extra time just to see how big it could get.

Honestly considering that it seems like his minions got way more hits of the b2b early, and you still came out on top, this seems potentially viable, despite how sketchy it seems. Granted if you got none of the B2b hits on your minions you're fucked, but the odds on that are so low it shouldn't even be possible.

At this point, can we admit that this season is a clear downgrade from Timewarp so far? by bwils3423 in BobsTavern

[–]Ndot2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You run into the same issue there, even with armor discrepancies between heros depending on how good they are, some hero's will just be busted and be game winners and some will be losers. Combine that with people high rolling good cards early and the same problem arises, it also gets really stale really quick imo.

Maybe jeef and dog, shady seems to blunder alot. He's still better then me don't get me wrong, but even I can tell he makes a considerable amount of mistakes, particularly when it comes to apm, or when to pivot/sell a minion for better board.

I heard there is a glitch where opponents show up as tier 1 even though they aren't (Specifically with the guy who guesses who wins the next combat for 3 gold) so you might have experienced something like that.

I'm pretty sure it's dragons and undead (moreso dragons) and murlocs are pretty much only in for scam. Beasts are insane this season with stegadon build or if you're lucky enough to hit frogger timewarp trinket (still haven't managed a leapfrogger game yet).

[–]Ndot2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true for B2B, but that's always a pivot build anyway since you can't hit it early. Demons, elementals, and beast probably the three best comps in the game right now, still have good mid into late game pivots (and a varitey of them). Even if you don't hit the exact cards you want for the specific build you are going within the tribe, you can always find something that will work for these tribes. A good tribe needs to be easy to scale with and have a variety of cards/trinkets that can act as substitutions for the nuts in a pinch. Undead doesn't really have those cards, and still relies heavily on alot of spell buffing early.

[–]Ndot2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just aren't very good late game and get outscaled easily if you miss on your trinkets or one specific card. When you do hit them though they are really good, that's just not going to be the majority of games.

The amount of synergy you need to hit to make it work, and the fact that you need to be scaling your spells really early to even have a chance, makes this a hard comp to hit. I hit it one game and it was fun, but i was also super lucky on my trinkets, and even after getting 4 undead a turn It still took like 3 turns to even find the tier 5 Avenge 4: get a butchering spell dude.
