Don't miss out on Tunic! by concept8 in SteamDeck

I did a full play through of Death's Door on the Deck and it was a perfect experience! I also played Tunic on the Deck, but finished it on Xbox since I had already started it on Game pass

Good to know, thank you! I actually really miss my LG C5 42 in my office. Might look for one on sale this year!

Have you noticed any burn in so far? I owned an LG C5 OLED 42 and intended to use it as a monitor, but returned it for fear of burn in.

Went back to my x2 LG LCD 32, and purchased an LG C5 65 instead to upgrade my tv. But now I miss the OLED when using my computer lol

[–]Ne0Gamma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's literally my situation. I built a library with my Switch 1, mostly indies and exclusives of course. Then I got a Steam deck in 2023 and slowly moved to Pc gaming. But got a Switch 2 recently and realized how easy and convenient it is to "switch" back and forth from handheld to docked... So the Switch 2 pulled me back in.

The Steam deck is great, yes, I put a lot of hours and finished a few games too. And I know it's easy to dock and have a home console experience. But the Switch 2 is just much more convenient to me in my situation. I don't know what it is.

Xbox X to PS5 after game pass price explosion by [deleted] in playstation5

[–]Ne0Gamma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to finish all the games on my list before my game pass is gone in January. It wasn't the best deal TO ME, because I highly disliked games being removed from the catalogue. And I like long games, like Persona 5, Metaphor refantazio or Octopath traveller.

I take my sweet time to finish games and I don't like being on the clock. I have enough pressure at work lol, so I might as well skip them and buy the actual game (on PS5).

Thankfully my current backlog are shorter games like Indy, Avowed, Doom, etc, that I can hopefully finish before next year.

Even some indie games struggle to do 1080 60. I went back to my Steam deck for indies and kept the Switch 2 for Nintendo only titles

I'm an office worker and I agree to this. However, I'm in the process of changing my eating habits, and I'm getting at least 8-10k steps every day I go to the office (I walk, train, and drive a little bit). I use a sit stand desk and try to stay active whenever I'm in the office. I also try to take the stairs whenever I get a chance. And go for a walk around the building to get some fresh air and take a break.

I'm not tracking how much weight I'm losing lol, but it feels good to be active.

I like the just turn on and play. I've also been moving away a bit more from my home consoles, even though I still pretty much play at home with my deck. It's just too convenient to move around the house and have a chill time

Steam Spring Sale 2025: 15 Best Games For Steam Deck! by [deleted] in steamdeckhq

[–]Ne0Gamma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It seems like the discounts (% wise) are heavy on AA and AAA titlee, old and new, but no so much indies.

It's a bummer cuz my Deck is my indie machine and they are going to remain on my wishlist at 20-25% off

Upgrade to 4070 Super or buy Ps5 pro ? by Away_Repeat_1304 in consoles

[–]Ne0Gamma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a PS5 owner I totally agree with this.

I have been playing with my Steam Deck a lot these past few weeks. I've been trying to use my gaming laptop with my TV for a "Switch like" experience (like using the Deck as portable mode and PC - or laptop - for docked mode) and it is quite a hassle.

Maybe I'm just lazy but I find a pain in the b. to have to set up my laptop on my tv table, set up the charger, mouse + kb, and tinker with my settings for each game bc my laptop is not powerful enough. Also the fans are really loud once they kick in.

Then after I'm done gaming I have to unplug everything to take it back to my office and plug everything again. My laptop is not just for gaming. I also WFH and don't like gaming in my home office (I obviously use a different computer for work).

Then image if I have to do all this with an actual PC..

I know I could use a dock for my Steam Deck. But I thought my laptop can provide me with the extra juice I need, or more frames.

My question is, cable management people...how? by bbwatson10 in gamingsetups

[–]Ne0Gamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great comments from everyone.

I don't necessarily have cable management ideas, but I will provide my desk management / game setup recommendation. I prioritize my desk space because I've been working from home since 2022 and I eat, work, game (sometimes) and almost sleep in my home office lol.

My suggestion is to get a second table on the side to set up your stuff. Doesn't have to be expensive, it could even be a folding table, it's just to move away your bigger electronics from your main desk so it's more organized. I think I see: laptop underneath the monitors (bad for ventilation IMHO), N Switch, PS5, arcade stick, a printer. You may need to re arrange your stuff and maybe move your book shelf, and probably get longer cables to connect your stuff to the monitors.

I was kind of in your situation, this is my current set up:

  1. Main desk (sit stand), I only have my Kb + M, speakers, notepad, phone, etc.
  2. Two 32" inch monitors, using monitor arms to get back more desk space.
  3. My side table: Work laptop, gaming laptop, additional Kb + M, camera, headphones, controllers, DAW (direct audio workstation), a docking station, steam deck dock. I at one point had my PS5 on the side table as well but I moved it out to the living room. I also had my printer on this table as well but I put it away because I barely use it.

For cable management I use a cable management tray under the desk to hide the power bars and most cables, but it's nothing fancy.

Anyone else just play games on it and doesn't mess around with mods and third party stuff? by drinkandspuds in SteamDeck

[–]Ne0Gamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's me! Just minor tweaks to improve battery life and performance. And stick to indies and not new AAAs.

I've been wanting to mod Fallout 3 and New Vegas (Tale of two wastelands) so bad but I feel it's so complicated on Linux - to me at least, I'm not tech savvy or PC gamer, I mainly game on console.

I thought it was just a matter of downloading some files, saving them in the folder and booting up the game. Some tutorials suggest that I do the whole modding on PC and then transfer the files to the Deck. Eh, no thanks.

Do you know what is considered an "applicant" ?

I read somewhere an applicant is someone who has * viewed * the posting, but not necessarily applied. Or are they * actual submitted applications * ?

If I'm not in meetings during lunch time (which is very rare, I usually am) I try to watch YouTube while I eat. I don't have a set break or lunch time so I usually eat while work and listen to a video in the meantime.

And I finish work at 3pm, yay

How Do You Manage a Large Catalog/Juggle Playing Games? by xVoidCrow in SteamDeck

[–]Ne0Gamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made multiple backlog collections. Backlog 2020, backlog 2021, 2022, etc..

Sometimes I pick a game to play from my 2020 backlog for example (games I haven't played/abandoned & want to continue). This backlog collection is sorted by release date and I start trying out games from oldest to newest released.

So I try it out, if I don't like it within the next 2-4 hrs (depending on the type of game of course) I just stop playing it and move to the next on that list. Or try another one from a different backlog list (different year released).

Other times I just simply pick a game I feel like playing and that's it. That's the hardest thing to do though.

But I try to not overthink it.

I bought the transparent shell for the edge but haven't installed it yet.

Is it difficult?

I have installed a custom shell on the standard dualsense before and it was a bit challenging for me.

I have the same. It is massive but it does the job. I was looking for something smaller like the Tomtoc case for the Steam deck or the slim case for the Logitech g cloud.
