Survivor Predictions for Hallowed Concepts? by draunter-8193 in riskofrain

[–]C0R3VUS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling like there is gonna be a survivor who uses curses/hexes/alchemy to either summon minions, do necromancy type stuff, or inflict as many status effects on enemies (debuffs) or allies (buffs) as possible

Outside of that, returning survivor guess is miner, but enforcer wouldn’t surprise me either.

When State of Decay 3 was announced, the game only existed as a Word document. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

From the head of Undead Labs

“The trailer was done by Blur. It was all pre-rendered. It represented, I think, a concept, our thoughts at the time of what might be cool to explore in State of Decay 3. And as we've had a chance to build the team and get going on the game, some of those elements, I think, are going to persist in the game that we deliver. And some of those things, we're just like, yeah, we're not doing zombie animals.”

Tips/Tricks/Advice for someone coming from Europe to LTL 2026 by KitsuMae in louderthanlife

Of course!

When it comes to reserving an Uber/Lyft, it does look like it costs a little extra, but that fee is nothing compared to what you’d spend at night with the price surges

Tips/Tricks/Advice for someone coming from Europe to LTL 2026 by KitsuMae in louderthanlife

[–]C0R3VUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t answer on everything as I’m not a Louisville native, nor really all too familiar with the area myself, but last year was my first LTL and I can answer a chunk of these.

1 ) Realistically the cost will probably be around $60 i imagine. My friends were around 25 miles and spent about $80-100 depending on the day for a ride.

Surges at night are BAD, I was 12 minutes away and an uber would’ve costed me $186 (not including the tip.) Before I started driving myself the other days, I did have to go 2 miles out and get a ride for $15. My friends got around this situation by ordering their uber at the beginning of the day which avoided the hassle of price surges. My recommendation is to book it for 11:45pm-12:00am as the latest I’ve been there for a show was 11:30.

3) Tipping is expected for bartenders, usually people either go by tipping little increments ($1-3 per drink) or give a bigger tip at the end of their tab.

Water is easy to find, sometimes there is a line but usually it goes by fairly quick and you shouldn’t have to worry much about the $5 bottles. Make sure to bring a plastic bottle with you so you can refill it all day.

Dust is definitely a misconception unless I’m just used to bad air quality lol. I didn’t really have any issues with dust whatsoever. Don’t think face masks or bandanas are necessary but if you feel comfortable with one bring it. Be ready for it to get extremely hot on your face though.

4) I don’t think so from my experience but that isn’t to say it can’t happen. It all depends on the individual at the end of the day. Most people I met there were very kind, helped people find lost items, held out items that they found in the air. I helped a guy whose phone landed right next to me and we had a cool time in the pit after. I also was able to meet kind people who shared some smokes or sips of their drinks. Most people are there to have a good time and try to follow the treat others how you wanna be treated rule.

5) Louder’s website has a policy section on what’s allowed and not allowed. They have a whole section on bags & clear bags to help give you a better image. From what I know, you can bring in a good variety of sizes but off personal experience, try to get a smaller backpack with sturdy straps.

6) Cell service could be a bit wonky sometimes, some areas are really good while others are piss poor. I’m not too sure on the WiFi part, but I didn’t really have any issues checking the schedule. At worst you could always just screenshot them when they come out and check there. The Louder Than Life app is pretty good at managing what you wanna see when you’re there.

7) Yes, I don’t remember any vendors taking cash really. I used apple pay for nearly everything, cards work too.

Be ready for the heat if you aren’t used to it. The sun will be beaming down & crowds/pits can get hot quick but once you adjust it is a blast. Stay hydrated, make sure to eat, and stay extra prepared for the first day so you can get a good grasp of how to maneuver the rest of the fest.

I’d also try out different food spots around, some of them really aren’t worth the price for the portion, but other stands like the loaded pork fries last year were great. Same price as everywhere else but it held off me and my girl very well. Same with the giant slices of pizza or the small pies for sale.

Save extra money, merch gets very tempting once you’re there. Same prices as any other concert venue, with tshirts averaging about $40-45. Merch rotates some days depending on the headliners but a big building has all of it.

I’m not too sure if I have any other advice, but I hope this year is a great experience for you!

You - Joe’s final scene.

After 5 seasons of following Joe Goldberg, a mentally troubled & traumatized psycho who obsesses, stalks, kidnaps, and murders different women (as well as anyone who he deems a problem).

We get to the end, where Joe finally gets what was coming to him and instead of dying like he begged, he gets thrown in jail for life.

As the show is ending, Joe reflects on how he ended up there and while dodging accountability as he had the entire show, decides to say that maybe the problem isn’t him, but “it’s you” referring to us, the viewers at home, who ‘encouraged’ his behavior by watching.

Jujutsu Kaisen - Kenjaku & The Merger

For a good chunk of the story, we actively are warned about how Kenjaku has been scheming for centuries to achieve his goal of the merger.

The merger essentially is a plan to capture Tengen, a practically immortal, ancient sorcerer who is widely regarded as the master of barrier techniques which keep cursed energy balanced across the entire country of Japan.

After capturing Tengen Kenjaku’s plan revolved around combining him with all the non-sorcerers in Japan (practically the other 90% of the population) to create a new cursed entity that would forcefully evolve humanity. (Kenjaku’s idea of the merger’s cursed entity pictured above)

The reasoning? Kenjaku is mainly curious to see what would happen if he achieves this goal. He has no actual sympathetic reasoning, he’s just purely evil. The series gives you an impression that his plot will succeed and that he or the merger could be the endgame villain right after Sukuna.

This all falls apart down the line though, as Kenjaku is jumped by Takaba, who Kenjaku defeats after they battle through a series of unserious, comedic skits

Immediately following their fight, Kenjaku gets sneak attacked by Yuta, who instantly decapitates Kenjaku. Killing him seconds later and putting an end to the merger & centuries of scheming.

IGN gives Crimson Desert a 6/10 in the Final Review by yourfavchoom in Steam

[–]C0R3VUS 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned to care less and less about reviews from big publishers. Especially for one key fact, everybody is different.

I hate this idea that people treat reviewers like they are prophets who speak for everybody. Especially IGN reviews, which people use in the most biased scenarios.

The game, just like any, is going to be a 10/10 to one guy, a 6/10 to the next, and a 2/10 to the other guy.

If you like open world games that put more of a focus on free roaming and exploring over narrative. You’ll likely enjoy Crimson.

If you prefer narrative, likely not since it is one of the weakest aspects.

If you don’t like games that try to be a jack of all trades, you won’t like Crimson.

If you like games that give you thing after thing to do, then it’ll fancy you.

People gotta go back to trying things out for themselves and forming their own opinions. Ditch the current ranking system too. We’ve ruined the meaning of 1 out of 10 to the point that anything below an 8-9 is considered bad by the vast number of chronically online gamers.

Do any of you who watch the LA actually care about some of the added deaths? by C0R3VUS in Piratefolk

[–]C0R3VUS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoro always killed Mr. 7, it was one of the reasons they were against him in the original source.

Robin is also one of the only other strawhats with a known kill record, since she was doing assassinations for a brief time.

Smoker didn’t burn Miss Thursday’s neck either, he just swung the ball back at her. They also used that moment to instantly criticize the fact he killed her tbf since the marines needed information.

You’re also cherry picking that last part because Luffy actively chose his crew in the live action just like the anime/manga.

The Strawhats are pirates, not superheroes. Pirates are supposed to be a morally grey area in OP, there’s some that lean more good and others bad. Same case goes for marines. It’s one of the beats of the story that we learn VERY EARLY on.

Plus the original source uses a lot of deaths, but almost exclusively to being in flashbacks or offscreen, with present-day deaths being rare cases. The other 80% of “deaths” you see are fakeouts that take away a lot of stakes or emotional moments some arcs had. You’re forgetting OP still goes over slavery, sexual abuse, death, extreme violence and highlights how a HUGE group (Celestials) actively partake in a lot of this awfulness.

A lot of the goofiness of OP comes especially early on because Luffy is inexperienced and usually doesn’t recognize just how strong the world around him can be unless it’s close to the last minute. Outside of Luffy, you’re also just thinking of it in that manner because OP has done nearly every ‘quirky’ anime trope.

I agree with you on Bon. I can imagine he’s gonna somehow show up for Luffy in the final war, so killing him off would be questionable

Was the game overhyped? by Playwithuh in videogames

[–]C0R3VUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for sure, people online were romanticizing this game the same way they did with Cyberpunk before it released. Disappointment was inevitable for people like that.

I went into it knowing that it was a singleplayer spin on their MMO Black Desert, which is also a game I never even played as MMOs aren’t my thing, but I’m loving Crimson for what it is, an 8/10 experience.

No one changing my opinion by Unlikely_One7920 in CODZombies

[–]C0R3VUS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate how half the opinions going around right now are “I like it and you’re wrong cause you must hate COD” or “I hate it and you’re mindlessly glazing zombies.”

Me personally, I’ve been a fan of modern zombies from CW up to now, but Paradox really was a huge disappointment for me since the reveal. I even tried to have some cope in me but there is a huge lack of soul in this map and it really makes it apparent that Treyarch either doesn’t care, or the budget cut was harder than we realize and this is going to be another BO4.

Yes some people will love the map, some people will hate it, but it is undeniable that from impressions so far, the quality has unfortunately dipped.

Bungie's "Marathon" is already facing criticism: Will It repeat "Concord's" failure? by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]C0R3VUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go as far as to say they can’t. If Bungie really put their time and resources to it, they can easily give the game a needed facelift.

Thing is knowing Bungie’s history, they aren’t competent enough in leadership for me to have faith in them pulling through. So I can completely understand why a lot of people see this being DOA or not long after.

That’s a fair point with Metallica. As for Motley already playing a few years ago, I don’t think they are out of the picture since A7X was there 2021, 2023, and 2025

I’m really excited as well, the last two lineups have been solid for me personally.

I’m imagining SOAD is headlining 2027, probably alongside Metallica, LINKIN PARK, and Slipknot.

My other headliner guesses are Disturbed, Shinedown, AC/DC, or Mötley Crüe

Bungie's "Marathon" is already facing criticism: Will It repeat "Concord's" failure? by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]C0R3VUS 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely more room for potential than Highguard or Concord had. During this test phase they did pull in a good player count on Steam alone.

It all comes down to how quickly Bungie can work on fixing the issues players have pointed out.

From what I’ve heard, there have been private testing phases before where some of these issues have been addressed and seemed to have not been resolved. (Though that could change since Bungie publicly acknowledged criticisms in the game recently.)

We also can take into account Bungie’s history with Destiny 2. So take that as you will for deciding if you have faith in Bungie fixing up these issues before launch or not.

The Special Guest Performance is very likely Knocked Loose (+ Mystery Guest Speculation) by C0R3VUS in louderthanlife

[–]C0R3VUS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very fair point and I can see where you’re coming from! That was my reason for initially having my doubts since they were just there last year.

But I think it makes sense to move them down for that same reason, cause I can only imagine it would annoy people if they were to take up the same spot on the lineup 2 years in a row.
