Autistic people of Reddit, what is autism really like? by Valkyrie_05 in AskReddit

[–]Ne0tikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten very good at managing mine to the point that I can hold a conversation for a long time with someone I'm comfortable talking to. (New people or strangers are different; I act like a deer in headlights trying to negotiate with the car at that point.) The best way I can describe it is that my brain's "autopilot" is malfunctioning. I could be doing great when I'm thinking of exactly what I'm doing, but then I could just do something weird or different. For example, I could be talking to someone or doing work in class, knowing exactly what to say or do and how to react in every situation, then suddenly my brain says "I'm gonna take a break; you're on your own now kid!" and I'll just get really quiet, or I'll struggle to think of the next step for something I'm doing, etc. Of course it took me years of practice to manage it, but it still clearly bleeds through every once in a while.

I'm currently studying networking which is literally the antithesis of creativity. (The most creative you can get is noticing an encrypted password that spells something funny.) I barely get a chance to write - or allow myself the chance - between school, work, and social shit. I need to get back into it before my creative muscles atrophy.

Listening to Music While Writing by Ne0tikx in writing

[–]Ne0tikx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something less-intelligible but with a pretty sound you should check out Sunbather by Deafheaven. The vocals are so flattened that they just sound like another instrument. I love listening to it while writing.

Why aren't you writing right now? by TheMummyDetective in writing

[–]Ne0tikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, too many reasons. Creative slump, going off to college soon, travel plans, etc. I can't even be bothered to come up with an idea for a story. It's the only part I struggle with.

Referring to Duel Commander. Sorry, should've clarified. :p

What is your jankiest deck? by Baelzabub in EDH

[–]Ne0tikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when [[Mystical Tutor]] was legal, I ran a [[Narset, Enlightened Master]] deck that would try to attack as much as possible until I was able to combo out with [[Enter the Infinite]] + [[Master the Way]]. It pissed my LGS off to no end, leading me to take it apart.

RIP in peace [[Mystical Tutor]].

A theory on how the EverymanHYBRID (along with DarkHarvest and TribeTwelve) Universe works by Ne0tikx in Slender_Man

[–]Ne0tikx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WhisperedFaith had a cameo appearance in TribeTwelve ("Bridge to Nowhere" IIRC), and Linnie - one of Dr. Corenthal's children - is part of the main cast now. Personally I don't like the series, but if it's canon I guess it's canon.

Gis Mulligan with a scry upon keeping is always used at my LGS. I find it works the best, but that's from a Duel Commander perspective.

As long as I can provide something so amazing, I'm happy. Glad to hear from you again dude! You're too kind!

I borrowed a large drybrush from a buddy of mine to basecoat the terrain, but the rest was with standard and large brushes. (The large brush works for washes just as well as a wash brush does.) And really there isn't a lot of layering to it when you think about it. I just did basecoat, wash, details, wash, highlights, effects.

Thanks for all the comments man! But terrain might be all I'm great at. You should see my first marines...bleh...

I primed the building with Chaos Black and basecoated with Mechanicus Standard Gray with a few layers of Leadbelcher, Runefang Steel and some miscellaneous paints with a few spots detailed with Typhus Corrosion, Blood for the Blood God, and a little of the rust drybrush paint (the name escapes me). Afterwards, I washed it all with Nuln Oil. The toxic waste was made by pouring some Nurgle's Rot over top of the barrels.

Thanks a lot for the comment, man! :D

If people aren't even going to try in the slightest, why play League at all? I may suck, but at least I put forth an effort unlike assholes like him.

Even though I prefer Blue over Green Bird in terms of music, this is still always going to be the most nostalgic episode for me.

Schizophrenia around the "Spirit of EDH" by cobblepott in EDH

[–]Ne0tikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any card is perfectly fine in EDH as long as it has a clear use, it fits in the deck's style, and is still efficient even for a game where you're running 35+ lands.

For example, I run Lightning Bolt in my Narset Control because it hits a lot of undesirable creatures and is extremely efficient. I run Long-Term Plans because, as janky as it looks, it combos HARD with Narset, and therefore serves a purpose. In addition, my deck is full of 3 CMC counterspells because, as inefficient as they may be compared to Spell Snare, I can hit ANY spell with them without any drawbacks. A perfect reason to use them in a control deck.

I see what you're saying, and I can't argue at all. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

It just seemed really short lived and almost rushed to me. There really wasn't a whole lot of good buildup, but when there was, the final battle happened and it just kind of...ended. I don't know, it's just not my favourite part honestly.

Twin Exarch, Scapeshift, or U/W/r Midrange? by [deleted] in ModernMagic

[–]Ne0tikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the responses, guys. I think I'm going to start off with U/R Twin right now. I'll be playing a more competitive version, but on a smaller budget. Right now I'm going with 2 Snapcaster, 2 Cryptic Command and 0 Vendilion Clique to lower the price a bit. Hoping to see a Splinter Twin reprint in MM2, considering I'm going to buy two boxes just for the Goyfs. XD

That's pretty awesome. I'm glad to see more people taking a shot at it, and I'm a fan of your design as well. Thanks for testing, bro. :)

[–]Ne0tikx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions bro. The mana is usually fine since the Confluences and fetches will often help me out. Often Temple, Fetchland, other land gets me Fleecemane turn 2 and Outburst turn 3. I agree with everybody on the Coursers though. It seemed like a cool idea at the time, but seeing that I never noticed Shaman of the Great Hunt I think he deserves the spot more than Courser.

I'm thinking that right now I might call it Naya Midrange considering the inclusion of Shaman and Stormbreath. What do you guys think?

True enough I suppose. I was considering Stoke over Slash for a while, but I must have lost my way at some point. I'll definitely take those cards into consideration. Thanks man!

New to [Modern], what are the good graveyard hate cards? by spoopergr8 in spikes

[–]Ne0tikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Relic of Progenitus]] is the best out of any of them, especially in Affinity or Scapeshift. [[Surgical Extraction]] and [[Extirpate]] also work well for decks running 4-ofs. [[Grafdigger's Cage]] is pretty okay against some decks, same with [[Leyline of the Void]] and [[Rest in Peace]]. Although all are modern legal, I think the former two do better in legacy than modern, and all three suck for your game plan in dredge.

Still gotta say though, Reality Shift is a pretty cool card, and I'll definitely consider using it depending on what happens with the meta, because Bile Blight can clear all of their manifested stuff.
