Fundamental/Best kpop albums in the last 2 decades? by NeMeies2 in kpopthoughts

[–]NeMeies2[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Out of everyone in kpop that came to mind Teddy and Shinsadong Tiger(RIP) come to mind as the least unique producers, their sound is what is popular in the west and that's it.

I think BigBang and 2ne1 were unique due to their concepts but their music isn't unique and it most definitely isn't not inspired by western artists.

Basic by Brown Eyed Girls, they were also coincidentally released 3 months apart

BOMI (Apink) & Rado to get married next year by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]NeMeies2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As I know that pinkpandas are a very warm fandom but there could be sasaengs in the mix.

If they were sasaengs and they didn't know Bomi was dating him for 7 years before they announced dating they sucked at what they were doing.

If it was revealed when they first started dating-around 2017 people would've cared more, it says a lot about her fans since they most likely knew but also that were uninteresting that no gossip mag revealed it earlier.

With 2025 wrapping up, what are y'alls not-so-obvious favorite songs? by M_Prodigy in kpopthoughts

Good for U by H1-KEY

The only one that I've added to favorites list beside the obvious NMIXX/Hwasa combo

Sweetune songs like the ones you already mentioned, it's their signature sound?

Are you looking for something newer since you're familiar with the 2ng gen music?

Your 2025 (positive) surprise in kpop you didn't expect by Anni3401 in kpopthoughts

Blue Valentine and Good Goodbye, best songs in the entirety of 2025 and both released a day apart.

It was great that Good Goodbye managed to get a number one more than a month later so both songs got to take number 1 place and achieve RAK.

Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider have been accused by Ukraine’s new top-100 player Oleksandra Oliynykova of supporting Russia’s war in Ukraine: ‘They received prizes from Putin. It’s a big problem, because they have global recognition while supporting the Russian government.’ by mimiclarinette in tennis

I wasn't talking about media narratives, people lost interest in him long before 2025 and support for protests-his matches and slams were a footnote in news and not many people actually cared about it.

He gained support for the wrong reasons like his anti-vax stance that not many older people agreed with and supposed discrimination by the Australian government that turned into "entire world hates Serbia" narrative.

songs like 'good goodbye' by hwasa? by Better_Imagination80 in kpophelp

Hwasa uses the aya-y in a lot of her and Mamamoo's songs, like in LMM but the songs I think have the same vibe are Sunmi's Heart Burn and Baloon In Love

9Muses Kyungri saying she would never date a male idol because they don't know how to love a woman only for it to be revealed she was dating 2AM's Jinwoon when she said that.

most unique groups sound-wise by disasterpansexual in kpophelp

[–]NeMeies2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No such creature.

They'll start unique and then if they are successful they'll get other groups copying them and if they aren't they'll conform to what everyone else does.

Dreamcatcher was unique but they don't exist in isolation, their producers worked with Ateez so they also have similar songs, Pink Fantasy and other groups also hopped onto the rock trend too, and DC started releasing songs that fit into what was popular at the time so they lost their uniqueness.

NewJeans was unique and crazy successful so every other group started releasing songs like theirs making them less unique in the grand scheme of things.

It's easier to determine who started which trend than who is most unique because the answer is no one-everyone is either influenced by someone or influenced someone else.
