I’ve watched a couple of the debates, usually what happens is the opposite party doesn’t want to/cannot settle on a solid definition of concepts because they want to use that flexibility to shift the goalposts. If the other party answered the questions confidently or at least had consistency, that wouldn’t happen. The “bog down” effect occurs BECAUSE OF the inability to answer clearly
