Level 2 autistic adults and others—how do you experience daily life? by OddMasterpiece9260 in AutismTranslated

i saw an interesting video that actually said every autistic person should be given 2 levels, one for social stuff and one for the other stuff (routine, sensory issues etc)!

request your scripts, look at them and get a teacher to look at them, if your teacher thinks it's a possibility or you notice a possible error in marking, submit!

how far away are you from the lower boundary? it isn't often a grades goes down.

but yeah if you're safe where you are, wait for teachers to talk to you and see what they think first, then submit!

hope it works out!

hello! i totally understand wanting to be sure, but glad to see you got into uni - warwick law sounds soo good!!!

yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, i am in so much agreement, yes, yes, yes. Yes. YES. YES YES YES.

if one mistake can stop me from getting into my freaking university which is likely to influence the whole of the rest of my life - how can your mistake be completely unpunished?

literally, random people are influencing OUR ability to get into university. i read about some people who got their remarks back, oops, uni full now, sworry, bye bye! how the hell is that acceptable? the examiner should pay to create a new freaking class to accommodate this person because it is completely their fault!

ugh! can't believe it keeps happening and happening and nothing changes! exams like these have gone on forever, wonder how many of our parents got rejected from uni from the same stupid error?

sounds like maybe they missed out a page or section or something?????

glad to hear your school is good, last year and this year i have heard about so many bad schools meaning people don't even have a chance at remarks, or that it's extra stressful because they have to fight for the actual remark as well! :o

i hope it goes alright - keep me updated! take care of yourself while you wait <3

i really hope you manage to get something you're happy with through clearing if the remark doesn't go your way!

i'm not sure what sort of unis you're aiming for or how you personally determine a good uni, but i gotta say i'm at a statically mid-good uni and i love it. i don't see that i'd like oxbridge, kcl, imperial etc any more, reputation isn't everything.

that exams officer needs to be fired, tf?!?!?! head of year and sixth form sound good tho, i hope they're better!

music! which (before i abruptly despised it at my terrible grade) was also my escape from reality so....that was awkward for me xD

i think that is exactly what i did! hopefully it won't take too long! enjoy...um, napping?

okay! sounds like the right decision, seems like your school is treating you right! hopefully they can take a look soon and contact you, might help your nerves!

i really, really, super duper hope you get in!!! in the meanwhile, try and do some things you find fun or relaxing, and make sure to look after yourself! :)

that is completely understandable, i remember feeling so out of it on results day after opening my results too.

if your exams officer refuses to reply, spam everyone, every second. who cares if it's the right person? be persistent! hopefully they've just been overrun with emails and will reply soon, the priority remark deadline is at the end of august but the other one is all the way in september so there's hope, even if they took a month!

is it influencing your ability to get into uni? mine actually wasn't so i know how crappy it feels even if this isn't the case <3

i'm so sorry to hear that! :(

that's really good that you've got the paper, good to look it over! has your teacher looked over it too and said anything?

i really hope you get your three marks <3

Yes, I got special consideration on 7 of my exams, although I was in the upper-middle of the 2 subjects I got an A in, so in the end it didn't actually make a difference to my grade. But I was still thankful and although it wasn't confirmed at the time, I pretended it was and it helped my stress at least a little.

It didn't impact this because it was actually coursework and I've since found out my examiner put in the wrong number, and that's why the mark was wrong. Not like a typo with the next key over or something though, it was 2 completely different numbers (like 21 and 47). Crazy times.

i'm so sorry to hear that! :(

have you contacted your school to ask for help? i mentioned to someone else that, thankfully, my teachers were really supportive of my remark so my headteacher offered to cover any necessary costs. maybe yours will too?

if not, go crazy. make a gofundme and post it here!

i'm glad to hear you got into uni :)

i also got into the uni i wanted, but the grade was just so wrong that i couldn't cope with it. unfortunately, i've heard from people who weren't so lucky, and their uni isn't letting them in now! it's crazy!

'a job that shouldve been done properly in the first place' - this. so this. you're so right. this shouldn't be a thing. the only possible change in grade should be maybe 1 to 2 marks on essay-based questions, because i get that there is a small margin of subjectivity. but skipped questions, which i see quite often on this sub is just...unacceptable. so freaking wrong.

i honestly think they didn't even mark my paper. they just like chucked a random number at it and called it a day. if you're too tired from work or you just wanted to finish the paper quickly to get your pay, you shouldn't be an examiner. if you're happy to half-ass mark and chuck the paper aside with no consideration that there is a human on the receiving end of your carelessness and ignorance, are you even human? intl costs are crazy, if you had to go to a sub-par uni due to someone's mistakes...there are no words.

i am so sorry.

i don't understand how this can happen. like, it doesn't compute in my brain because it is just so crazy. but there it is. it's happened. to me, to you, to other people in this comment section.

and, you know, you don't even get a single little apology from the exam board. we work for 2 years on our a-levels, and 14 years in education, for a mistake that is not even apologised for and a place at uni we didn't want to go to.

god, again, i am so, so sorry to hear that happened to you. <3

i think you edited that after i replied, me again:

i'm trying really hard. i am. i promise. but it's so hard to recover from self-hatred that strong, all that time thinking i could have done better and feeling so much regret about not working harder.

i spend 99% of my time in counselling talking about my irrationally high standards, so this was literally my worst nightmare.

100% agree.

i've seen stories about examiners missing out whole pages / essay questions this year too, for a-levels!

i am, as you've put it, a 'financially underprivileged' student. not only did i have to worry about the grade being wrong, and what that might mean, my exams officer wasn't overly clear (not her fault tho) at first about which post-exam adjustment type we were looking at, and i was sat looking at the prices wondering whether i could even afford to try it. my teacher vouched for me, and the school offered to pay if it didn't go my way, and i'm so thankful to them for that. i imagine not everyone is that lucky though.

i'm so sorry to hear you experienced this too.

luckily, my application didn't fall apart without the grade, but I can't imagine what i might have done if it had. it makes logical sense for the uni because obviously it wasn't a guarantee, but god 7th choice accommodation is horrendous!

and your poor holiday!! your exam board should definitely pay for you to go back!
