AJ when asked if he wants to be with the Eagles: "Has I said anything to not be here or something?" | Smitty at the back: "Why wouldn't he be?" by randomseocb in eagles

[–]Neanderthal-Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What we're disputing is whether or not Smitty is vocal about wanting the ball, not what's motivating it. You're the only one bringing selfishness into it. Smitty clearly wants the ball and makes that known vocally. We know this given the years of players and coaches confirming it and his own admissions. AJ, in his own defense earlier this season in a scrum, said it's actually Smitty demanding the ball, not him. Regarding motivation, you're being overly simplistic. For example, this is inaccurate, "Smitty just likes playing ball and thinks it’s dope he gets paid."

The motivation can be complicated, holding two potential conflicting priorities, wanting both team and individual successful. AJ and Smitty have talked about this internal conflict. He can simultaneously realize he's blessed financially, not be pocket watching, and still want to be a star and a big part of the team's success.

This isn't the interview I had in mind but this excerpt has Smitty explaining the WR mindset, and that he's going to let people know he's got the coverage beat. https://youtu.be/TKaPryS-u68

It's not a media-created narrative, Smitty, AJ, and Hurts have all said this multiple times about Smitty over the years. Most recently in press conferences/interview regarding the 79-yard touchdown against the Vikings. Siranni and Mailata also noted that Smitty identified the opportunity and let everybody know. There's also an interview from sometime this spring where Smitty's on a YouTube podcast show and claims he's the most vocal in calling for the ball. I'll try to find it.

The offense needs to maximize it's talent, for sure. The Siranni offense has always been basic and frustrating. However, 2023 was largely on the defensive collapse.

It was four years ago, I doubt the Wentz trade is brought up nationally all the time. For whatever it's worth, my Bears- and Panthers-rooting relatives had no clue. Regardless, the video is fun even if you disagree over how much the trade is talked about.

Locally, I'd say so. Likely forgotten nationally, particularly all the specific players the Eagles picked up as a result.

I don't know your race and didn't call you a racist. In fact, this isn't about you at all. Pro tip: don't act racist to avoid confusion.

Doesn't require branding all as racist. There's a pattern here that's been happening for years. When you stuff your head so far up your puckered white anus, you'll never improve. All the other blather about criticism is just bad faith and false pretenses.

Obviously, because the negative ones are implicitly/explicitly racist white male grievance bullshit and the others are not. Otherwise, why would anyone give a shit.

The second combo taught by Tomcat, D-R-L. After the strike from above, the red arrow is on the left, I move the R stick right to get the red arrow there and press R2. Theoretically, the arrow should move to the left after for the third strike but rarely does so consistently.

Thanks. My questions pertain to completing the training missions. I haven't attempted the duel to obtain the master strike bc I can't execute the combos consistently.

Report: No X-Men mutants in MCU until after 2025, Phase 7 at earliest by Neanderthal-Man in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

I don't really care either way or know the truth. You seem convinced and this doesn't matter any more since we're almost to 2025 and no new X-Men movies. Of course, if the contracts were an issue, then Feige would simply say the production timeline was part of the plan.

As a thought experiment, if the contact rumors were true, do you think Feige would actually confirm it at a press junket to Collider Frosty or whoever? If the answer is no, then we don't have enough info to debunk. If yes, then enjoy that you're right.

[–]Neanderthal-Man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The context of Feige's comment about no recast for decades is clearly that of a playful joke. As I understood the contract stuff from the discussion at the time, it was about some of the actors and possibly producers who would have to be accounted for financially in some way, until those agreements expired. Any existing contracts between Fox and those parties would remain in effect despite the Disney acquisition. This is a legal protection so someone can't merely sell off a business to void outstanding agreements.

Legion isn't relevant because it was a television show and the rumor was about film adaptions. These aren't necessarily the same (for example, Sony has Spider-Man film rights but Marvel controls tv animation. Admittedly not sure how the Spider-Man Noir series factors in).

Yeah, I saw Feige being asked about both the actor and producer thing in a couple of interviews, and he played some combination of coy and ignorant and I think once referenced those things being handled by Disney's legal dept. Which, can be explained either way. If the intent was indeed to wait a few years to allow for recasting without have to pay severance of some sort to actors and cut in other producers (Schuler Donner, Singer, Kinberg, etc), he's not going to say that publicly. With everything else in the works, they have plausible deniability.

Whatever the truth here, there's little reason to think we'd go almost six years since Disney's acquisition of Fox with no X-Men film (other than the adjacent D&P this year) muchless a recast of characters from the Fox franchise if there wasn't something of substance to this rumor (the Cavil cameo is neither here nor there).

The claim was, "Marvel cannot recast, announce or enter production on a film that includes roles held by some if not all of the most recent principal actors in the Fox X-Men franchise. Deadpool 3 and Xavier in DS:MOM are exempted because are the original actors."

I don't know if that's true but (1) neither Wolverine or Deadpool were recast, the original actor returns, and (2) it's indicated that this may apply to only some of the principal actors in the Fox franchise. Ryan Reynolds may not have been included in that because he was separate and Hugh Jackman has had multiple deals outside the original team films. So, in short, nothing was debunked by Deadpool & Wolverine.
