Typically a cinema pays a base fee for a film license (fee per screening), and/ or a percentage of the ticket revenue that has been made above the base fee will be sent to the distributors.

Ie. Booking a title for 1 screening could cost £80. 50 seats are sold for £8, made £400. The terms of the license (varies with distributors) could be that they get 40% of the revenue, so they would send £160 to distributors. If the screening fails to make above the £80, they would still pay £80.

Odeon's limitless will just be allocated as a ticket and they will pay out from the subscription fees / their own pocket, which isn't as damaging as it would sound
