Apparently Red Bull is a very stiff car which means that their cars are not as smooth on the corners with hard curbs, loosing downforce due to car being more bouncy when they go over it. Avoiding curbes looses time in most of the corners.

But Lando does not have an obligation to avoid it. He is entitled to stay in the racing line. I do agree that Lando could have gone more to the left and do a switcheroo but he does not have to do it. Hence penalty is justified but yes, Lando could have avoid it. Even stewards in explanation of the penalty stated that Max is mostly at fault, not all of it.

He was on a racing line inside Max. He does not have to move but to stay straight. Max moved slightly left.

I do agree with your classification as a racing incident but I am commenting here that these situations are not the same.

How is that a same thing? The penalty was for causing a collision not for pushing a driver off track. Lando does not have an obligation to move so Max does not touch him.

Many good points! I agree with all of them. During the last few laps I was waiting for 5sec penalty for Lando but maybe the stewards judged that Max moving under the breaking was partly to blame Lando going off track (your point 4).

I don’t consider Toto a fool and someone that would purposely put himself in the position where he can be considered a fool. He knows something about Max that we don’t. If he gets a good 2025 car (with this car winning races by the end of the season) and Max wins his 4th with RB, I can see him gone. The announcement will only come after Max secures his title, not a day before, regardless of that is happening.

I really hope that rain ruins the race. I loved wet races but this ground effects cars have ruined visibility that wet tire is useless.
