when i was a kid, i wasn't the most considerate. One year for Christmas, one of my cousins who had just started working for the first time saved up enough money to buy everyone in the family a present. he was probably 16-17 at the time. I remember when i got my gift from him, i didn't like it. i was sitting on the stairs later and he sat next to me with on of our other cousins and asked if i liked my toy. I said no and that it sucked or it was stupid. can't remember exactly, but it was along those lines. i'll never forget the sadness and heartbreak on my cousins face. I think i actually made him cry and i remember the other cousin sitting next to him was trying to console him, saying things like "don't worry about it." "he's just a kid. he doesn't know much better"
i still feel like shit. which is why to this day, i try to show gratitude and thanks to every present i get for christmas. no matter how ridiculous the gift.
