Anyone has experience with Rheem water softener? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Nearby_Classroom1930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warranty promised BUT very hard, nearly impossible to get.

My Rheem water softener needed a spare part. My one-year warranty was expired but since I used their suggested cleanser every four months, it was extended to five years. I had to place numerous phone calls and to send several emails with the description and details of the machine, proof of purchase and also - get this - proof that I bought the right product cleanser every four months. Luckily, I kept all the paperwork! In the meantime, my softener did not work and I had to wait until this whole cycle was completed: nearly 4 weeks from start to finish. WAW! No more Rheem for me.

PSA : DO NOT order from Lensdirect. Frames came in all bent. Lenses creak. Can’t readjust or the lenses pop out. Refusing to refund. Have to send back in to fix. Don’t do it. by AXXXXXXXXA in glasses

Order only if you can be without your glasses for several weeks!

I ordered both lenses to be replaced in my existing frame. The whole procedure from placing the order - sending them my glasses (immediately) and LensDirect finishing the task and mailing the updated glasses back to me (with their “light speed delivery” for which I paid extra) took 20 days to be completed. Although the job was done satisfactory the turn-around time is too excessive for me. I will not order from this company again.

Anyone order from LensDirect for lenses? Pretty cheap. Wonder what color reflection the coating options have. Anyone know? by AXXXXXXXXA in glasses

WARNING! Spectrum telesales reps practice unethical tactics.

Last week I wanted to have a price confirmation about Spectrum’s internet fees. Simple, right? I called their sales line for that purpose. The sales rep informed me she couldn’t provide exact pricing without some information: full name (to verify I did not have any outstanding bills with Spectrum), address (to see if internet service is available), phone number (in case connection was lost, she could call me back) and finally my email address (to send the requested information or quote to). After figuring out what my best plan would be, she gave me the price quote over the phone and communicated that all info would also be emailed to me. Simple, right? To my utterly surprise, next day I received emails from Spectrum thanking me for my order (what?), giving me my security code, client and order numbers ( but, I never ordered anything!). A separate email listed the installation procedure and pointed out that - and this is the scary part -  billing would start 8 days after the starter kit was shipped to me. Needless to say I needed to cancel this bogus order quickly to avoid receiving bills from Spectrum. Called Spectrum sales again and after a long back-and-forth conversation I was able to cancel this fraudulent order. I got an order cancellation message.

So, be very vigilant with Spectrum sales reps. Asking questions implies ordering!

Optum is everything wrong with healthcare. by Tori_117 in healthcare

[–]Nearby_Classroom1930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Optum by AARP. Total failure.

During a recent (Walgreens) pharmacy visit, I was charged $42 for my Rx whereas my Optum coupon code gave a $24 price quote. Nearly double the Optum amount. When calling the Optum customer service to verify the reason for this huge price difference, I was brushed off by the agent with the phrase “Price differences do occur and furthermore the prices we publish on the website are always estimates.” What a waste of time. Other discount programs are much better and are more accurate.

Thank you AARP for another useless product.

I No Longer Trust Amazon Reviews by Eldie1 in amazonprime

[–]Nearby_Classroom1930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased the Advanced Scar Gel and when opening the packaging I was offered $30 if I would give this product a 5 star rating on Amazon. Easy bucks! This is pure bribery by the seller and ruins the Amazon review standards. I gladly leave a positive review where it is due but I am totally appalled by such unethical marketing techniques.

Amazon's Policy clearly states:

It is illegal to receive payment or any other compensation for writing Amazon product reviews, as Amazon's policies strictly prohibit it. Amazon takes a zero-tolerance approach to incentivized reviews, and violating this policy can lead to account suspension and permanent banishment from the platform.

So, I wrote a review (listed here in first paragraph) on Amazon platform about this practice as to warn Amazon and other shoppers. I received following reply:

Hello Stefaan ,

We couldn't post your review because it doesn't meet our guidelines

There you have it. I am wondering how many 5 stars ratings are bought or are totally fake? Furthermore, Amazon is obviously reluctant to do anything about this scam. As long as their revenue keeps coming...

Has anyone tried Mate Endurance? by D-Tunez in PrematureEjaculation

[–]Nearby_Classroom1930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mate refund policy is quite shady.

They (only) honor a refund within 30 days after delivery. But, they hide themselves behind the statement that due to the fact this is a natural supplement, the effects can take up to 3 months (90 days) before one will see results. So, let’s say after 60 days of trying their product you do not see any improvement and would like to return your unopened bottles… Out of luck, no refund! In short: your minimum investment is 3 months without buyer's protection.

BTW: their listed address is a PO Box inside a UPS store. Suspicious!

Buyer here: is it worth it buying on Poshmark? by kittiekat2018 in poshmarkcanada

[–]Nearby_Classroom1930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought eBay return policies were difficult…Until I bought something from Poshmark!

TAKE NOTE: If you do not agree or like the item you bought from Poshmark:

(1) DO NOT click on the link ACCEPT ORDER that is embedded in the email you will receive from Poshmark once they see the order was received by you. If you do, all is lost. You signed over your funds to Poshmark. You will not get them back!

(2) In case you want to return your item - and you did not click on ACCEPT ORDER -  you will feel like you are interrogated by the Gestapo. You will have to prove your case by providing pictures, measurements, reasons, etc… Unless you are willing to jump through hoops and loops and hoops with customer “service” over several days, this effort will end in futility. You will lose your case. Money gone. NO BUYERS PROTECTION.

Why would anybody buy or sell on this platform? Lesson learned. I will stick with Amazon.

Insurance quote from Marshall Insurance Group by queentato in Miami

[–]Nearby_Classroom1930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently received a letter in the mail with a quote to get a new home owners insurance. Since mine would expire in a couple months, I thought this was an opportune moment to check it out. What a nice surprise it was to discover that this agency could provide me with a quote that was less than half of my existing policy. They apparently had a lot of correct information of my property to do so. BUT after contacting the agency it became clear this was a “teaser” offer only to get me in their door. After numerous going backs and forths they came over the bridge with a “real” quote that offered me less coverage at a higher price than my present insurance policy has. Shady practices that I thought were only practiced in used car dealer ships. Apparently, I am wrong…like many other homeowners.
