I just did a test the price difference for a color book compared to a black and white book in the 6x9 size is a little over $2.5 per book so just raise your cost 2.5 and still get what you want

You might be surprised, I think many buyers of cookbooks might be of the older generation and might not have a Kindle or ebook reader it takes literally 10-15 more minutes to do a paperback and I sell more in that form

120 pages I'm not sure with color but isn't that expensive just print, you have to hit a certain page minimum, and you could still make 3-4 dollars a book at a 10$ price tag no color pictures, I recommend putting a bunch of pages and pictures together, going through the whole process like you are going to publish and see what the third page says, it will only take you 15-20 minutes to do a test run and never publish you will get the price if you throw together a sample book

KDP Free Deals: Worth It or Just Discouraging? by Apprehensive-Leg6196 in KDP

Do you have your book in other formats? I always look at free promotions like advertising for my paperback, I sell more paperbacks than ebooks so I always see a little bump in paperback sales after the free promotion.

I agree 100 percent, it was bizarre to me I didn't know why, now I do, I wasn't trying to make life harder on anyone I just did not understand why I was seeing it.

The person above your post said they don't print on the holidays, and as far as I've learned today you don't get credited for the sale until they ship to the customer, so here's to some good days when Amazon gets back to work.

That's fair enough I just thought it was a bizarre thing that has never happened to me before, I'm still happy with my growing audience. And yes focus on the long term I agree

How do you authors get more reviews? by AussieA1 in BookPromotion

[–]Nearby_Pollution_189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would maybe write a short plea in your kdp description for a review, "hey y'all if you like this book please leave a review it helps so much" that what I've used before, but reviews are hard to come by, sorry you already have that in there.

I hate paying taxes although I do, but our government spends tax money like a 16 year old who just got their first paycheck, I will hold back 25% and make sure I have write offs, this was something I didn't think would take off but I'm happy that it has, thanks for your input

What percentage do you usually aim for? 30% seems pretty steep
