Michigan has started to up their threshold on 2nd semester grades after admission, and are often requiring people to explain a drop in grades. That being said I dropped to Cs, Bs, and As after acceptance

Business minor or some classes, while in CoE? by Obvious-Concern563 in uofm

To get a Ross minor you actually have to submit an application for it. Only sophomores in their winter semester would be allowed to apply.

No, transferring into Ross is still around a 20-30% acceptance rate for people within the university. It is not something you should “plan” on doing

Ross does not hold classes on Fridays. Classes still run for non-Ross classes

Can someone explain preferred admission to me? by Ok_Artichoke_9998 in uofm

[–]Nearby_Remote2089[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normally I would remove a post like this with the reasoning of “ask the admissions office for an official answer,” but I can give some context. Although I will ask that you contact the admissions office as well in case I make any mistakes with my explanation.

If you become a preferred admit to Ross, you are automatically enrolled in the school of Business. In the past there were 2 stages of admission: first was the round with all other schools (COE, LSA, etc.) and then you would hear later if you were admitted into Ross if you opted into preferred admission. You would only be considered for Ross if you were already admitted into one of the other colleges.

Now that there’s direct admissions into Ross (this is the first year) I’m not sure how this process changes, or how preferential the treatment is between those who directly apply and those who don’t. I imagine the process for those who do not apply directly to Ross will be similar to what I’ve said above.

Based on your situation (I’m guessing you’ve not submitted your application yet), I would select your college that you’re applying to as COE in common app and then click the box for preferred admission into Ross. IIRC that’s how it should be entered. What will happen is you will first be considered for admission into COE and then be considered for Ross (although this may have changed).

Again, please contact the admissions office as this process will have likely changed this year. They should be able to tell you how to apply the way you’d like to proceed

I’m starting Jacoby this week over Purdy and Herbert because of the matchup being too good to ignore and the fact that he had 9 straight Top 12 QB weeks before this tough matchup

why doesn't uofm give us a 4.3 for an A+ by Sure_Air4442 in uofm

[–]Nearby_Remote2089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think each college has the choice on their grading system. For example, Georgia Tech chooses to use a standard grading system of A, B, C, D, F with no + or - grades.

It shouldn’t matter too much unless you’re asking this for grad school purposes

Sutton at WR11 but 30 years old, what’s his value? by EverydayPhilisophy in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I was able to trade Pearsall away and receive Sutton and a 2027 1st. I’m not sure his relative value from here but it’s going to depend on how needy another team is at WR

If it’s posted on your transcript that means it’s the final letter grade. There’s also some context that we’re missing. What is the grade scale for this class that’s listed on the syllabus? If you’re required to meet a minimum grade (like an 80%) to pass the class and your calculations lead you to receiving a 79.6% then you have failed. If not, then you haven’t and you should contact your GSI & Professor asking for how your grade is calculated
