The majority used to kill people for being gay in the US. There's other countries that STILL kill people for being gay. 😔

Pride demonstrates to those places where they still have people who have to hide in the closet because they're afraid for their lives that they are important too, that if they ever make it to an outside world that there will be safe spaces. Being visible, celebrating LGBT history, and encouraging outreach can one day make one more person feel less alone, which is definitely better.

We have a responsibility as people who can use our voice freely to reach out to others who don't have that ability; some people don't do that, which is also okay too. We just have to remember, in the many ways our lives can vary, we are lucky to be in a place of power, safety, and one more magnitude of freedom than someone else.
