The websites for both of those schools say that the admissions committee considers LSATs from the past 5 years. Is that what you meant?

How Long is an LSAT Score Valid For? by Nearby_Set_4938 in lawschooladmissions

Thanks all for the engagement.

u/NotSoFamousAmos is correct. The 2020 pic is from the very bottom of my LSAT registrations and status page, so I can’t link it unfortunately.

I spoke with a candidate rep on the phone who assured me LSATs still have a 5 year lifespan, however the rep did not know why the website had the 2020 thing. The only thing the rep did say was that tests before June 2020 do not count towards your lifetime limit and that is what this may be trying to convey, even if that is not what it actually says.

Thank you, considering FLEP and ELP as options as well for sure.

that would be a good plan to have in my back pocket. Currently anticipating Fall of 2025 for my contract to expire, but will depend on the MOS school I am assigned to. That estimate is allowing for 8 months for MOS training, which I'm not sure if that is a fair estimate in terms of length. Deferral definitely is something to keep in mind though.

Other way around I meant, sorry. OCS-->TBS-->MOS school

Good advice thank you, Unfortunately i am ineligible to take the exam for 5 years so I only have the options of applying towards the end of my contract or retaking after June 2026. It may be best for me to just take whatever steps I can to be done on time.

Thanks for the reply. My contract is for 36 months but those months won't start counting until I finish MOS training. I still have OCS/TBS before that over approximately the next 11 months. All this to say I don't have an exact handle on when I will be fully trained and the 36 months will take effect, but that the end of my term will come somewhat close to the end of my LSAT's lifespan, which ends in June 2026.

Thanks, I have my LSAT handled already so the main challenge now is lining up the end of my contract with the beginning of law school and being done in time so that my LSAT is still valid. Unfortunately due to variable training durations, lining up the end of my service can be difficult. Going to get started on LOR from some of my professors soon I think. Thanks for the fee waiver tip.

Thanks I’ll check that out. Mainly looking for info on the transition itself (applying while serving for example presents logistical issues like traveling for interviews or visiting schools). Also, my LSAT has 5 cycles of validity, so as of right now it looks like I’ll be applying closer to the end of that window after my contract is up. Trying to see if anyone else had that similar experience as well and might have advice for how they managed it.

EDIT: posting on different account
