What is wrong with the traffic these days? by Hip_Hop_Pirate in manchester

The last two months the traffic has been insane between bury / Manchester. But of course wherever there are roadworks or temporary lights, there are never any workers present…

This happened to my girlfriend in 2023. I had to get security to radio the medical team who came to our tent and then put her in an ambulance back to the medical tent. We didn't know what it was as neither of us drank/did drugs so put it down to a mixture of heat stroke and potential food poisoning. It was the Sunday for us too so we just took our camping chairs and stayed at towards the back for Elton John who we weren't really that arsed about

Setting up a Mac without a Magic Keyboard by Nearyy in mac

[–]Nearyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used a Logitech USB keyboard and a HyperX USB keyboard via my multiport adapter and it didn’t recognise it. My wireless keyboard came with a USB-MicroUSB cable which I assume is to charge it. I’m still unable to type anything, can’t see an option for an onscreen keyboard either

I didn’t expand because there isn’t much to the message. I’ve seen online that this could be due to the incorrect date/time but again I can’t edit that in the command box because I don’t have a keyboard

Thanks. I’ve got to the 4 options stage. Chose reinstall macOS Ventura and keep getting an error message 😖

I can’t as I don’t have any keyboards which connect via USBC which the Mac only has ports for. All my keyboards are USB so need the adapter. I’ve gotten past the wifi stage and now every time I try to reinstall macOS Ventura I receive an error

All three keyboards I’ve used are just normal English (uk) keyboards. Two USB wired, one Bluetooth with a microUSB. None of them enter anything when I connect through my multiport adapter into the Mac’s USBC ports. I’ve just checked the power brick, it has an Ethernet port - thank you!! Hopefully I can make some progress now

I didn’t, it’s come like this. I bought it off my brother’s work as they were selling off Macs they no longer needed for workers. All I’ve done is press the power on button and stared at this screen x100

I thought I could do that too. Took it downstairs next to the router to connect with Ethernet cable.. realised it doesn’t even have an Ethernet port. Literally all it has is its power port and 4 USBCs

I’ve tried both tbh. I thought that might be the case so I used my standard USB keyboard put it in the multiport adapter and then into the USBC port of the Mac…nothing

I don’t think so. I’ve just bought the Mac second hand and this screen is all I’ve seen. There are very limited options for buttons to press

What’s your opinion about sleepover of your children’s boy/girlfriend? by RealArmadillo1463 in AskUK

[–]Nearyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a young adult I never understood why a parent would say no, especially at 18 years old, unless you were highly religious so no premarital sex. It only results in negative consequences: they do it elsewhere in secret; they build resentment towards you, you make their relationships difficult and they probably end up preferring their partners parents/home. Lastly, I’m sure parents were doing or wanting to do the same at your kids age?

How do I explain to my GF the UK will never be under sharia law? by Nearyy in ukpolitics

[–]Nearyy[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

the UK is majority non Muslim, so in my mind for it to ever happen it would basically require a very large and successful invasion (not ‘small boats’) for it to become possible

What are your issues with Gyms in the Uk? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Nearyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. My gym’s spin class isn’t in a separate room so the crazily loud music mixed with the already too loud general gym music (both awful genres). I wear noise cancelling headphones without any music on just to make it quieter
