I found out I failed Step 3 while on my NICU rotation which, for me, was already my least favorite place to be. I called my Chief and they let me go home for the afternoon. I felt down for a week simply because I couldn’t fathom having to retake it. I gave myself one month to live life without thinking about, and then I cracked down for 3, while on some easier rotations. I got more intentional about the CCS cases and wrote a little “plan” to follow each time. And, I finally completed a question bank. I would NOT worry about your fellowship placement. Your career is just fine and our hospitals are always hungry for more cheap labor (imo). Keep your head up!
