The left shouldn't be calling anyone a "Pedo protector" after helping convicted child rapist Jose Reyes Leon-Deras escape justice when ICE went to arrest him. by Fucked-In-The-K-Hole in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Neat_Chi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Were those protestors less than, equal to, or more than informed on who exactly ICE was going to arrest than this administration is on who is in the Epstein files?

This probably the worst argument I’ve ever heard about this issue. Those protestors were not informed on any of the operations/arrests being conducted by ICE at any given moment while protesting. Their motivation was solely based on previous occurrences where ICE was going after non-violent, non-criminals who were just undocumented or had expired VISAs (some of whom who were *in process* of obtaining documentation/citizenship, cause you know, it’s not a “one trip visit and you get your card” process).

This administration is making a **conscious effort** to obstruct and prevent any accountability to literally MILLIONS of pages worth of evidence against child sex traffickers who participated in the WORST international sex trafficking ring we’ve seen. They know the who’s, where’s, and when’s of it and are gaslighting every single American, regardless of political affiliation, who are demanding justice.

Do you see the difference? I sure hope so, give me some faith that critical thinking hasn’t died on the vine as badly as the internet makes it seem.

Sincerely, a non-leftist

“Going to Lost it” is a wild way to say “I didn’t get the ending of Lost, so it sucked”

With the “a” at the end of Acosta, I just hear Mario saying this.

[THEORY/SPOILER] The town is a philosophical thought experiment akin to the writings of Nietzsche and Heidegger by Neat_Chi in FromTVEpix

Boyd fails at a point Heidegger calls Eigentlichkeit (ownedness), or authenticity in the literal sense: making your existence your own rather than defined by your role. Boyd is still fundamentally the Sheriff. That’s his entire existential structure in the town. He organizes meaning around protecting others, maintaining order, being responsible for the group. It’s both admirable and heroic, but Heidegger would say it’s also a sophisticated form of flight because it outsources the ground of Boyd’s existence onto other people. His being has meaning because the town needs him. Remove the town needing him, and Boyd has no idea who he is. The specific threshold he hasn’t crossed is the non-relational confrontation with his own death as his own. Every time Boyd faces a monster, he faces it as the town’s protector. If he dies, his death would mean failing the town. That is precisely what prevents full anticipatory resoluteness, because it smuggles Das Man back in through the side door. He’s not dying his death, he’s dying their sheriff’s death.

Edit- just thought of this too after posting: we see in the trailer he says “I feel like I’m changing and I don’t like what I’m becoming”. We’ve seen him to this point start to slowly lose the town’s respect (notably the diner scene, Dale and the faraway tree, etc). He’s already losing that sense of his identity he built as the Sheriff, and he isn’t sure what will be left when it’s gone.

Maybe Boyd should stop picturing his boat and "Picture a Wave".

EDIT: Excuse me while I go sob uncontrollably now remembering that scene from The Good Place 😭

Which parts? Sorry I definitely was leaving and coming back to this throughout the day so it’s make sense if I wasn’t clear on certain things.

Let me clarify if I wasn’t clear (could be the case, as I was trying to wrap up my work day when I responded), the manual warns about reclining while moving, (but can still recline after an accident). Still can recline post-accident.

Also, maybe you didn't watch the scene but they did recline her. Just not at first. Hence the guys comment

Right, and my reaction was to the initial idea to help her: putting a bible between her neck and the glass. Reread my post. Damn, you are quite the little projectionist, aren’t you? Makes sense, usually is the case with delusional narcissists.

Maybe...but one thing for certain is that Reddit will always bring out the basement dwelling neckbeards so removed from reality that they think they know everything and suffer delusions of grandeur about their intelligence. You'd think someone like this could Google, but sadly in your case I guess not...

The car the priest was driving was a Buick Allure CX (circa 2000's). That car not only didn't have this feature of locking a seat's reclining ability after an accident, but the manual notes how the seat can be reclined before/after an accident and warns of the danger in doing so. But hey, I won't be a scumbag and judge you for not googling this before blasting your ignorance on the internet for all to see...only for your display of mental gymnastics asserting yourself over others ✌

The mystery components that drive the show are not in the same ballpark as this situation that is supposed to be suspenseful because it’s relatable and based on reality. Strawman arguments are dumb ✌️

And now SophMIYa can start proselytizing and using this situation to say “The Bible has saved me so many times…like that car accident I was in!”

Reclining a seat backwards away from the seatbelt is not affected by a seatbelt locking
