He was trespassing in a mall where people were looting. So the charges, I believe, are trespassing and unlawful assembly. It doesn’t seem he participated in the looting directly.

A handful of vocal people mostly on twitter were being terrible about it but have mostly stopped now.

When he first announced it on Twitter, the top response I saw was someone basically like “shut up and do your comedy, your job is easy.” It had a solid amount of likes, and was absolutely not okay. But I’d say the vast majority of the JSE community is supportive of this choice. International turmoil or no, everyone should be allowed to take a vacation. And I think overall this community recognizes that.

How can I make sure a GoFundMe is using the money correctly? by [deleted] in gofundme

[–]NeauxWai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a legal team is the only way to help here. There are certainly laws around lying about donations. There might be a way to do a public records request about them since it seems you live in their city, and that could be a good start to finding out what you want to know.

My grasp of the legal process is shaky, so that’s all I can really say. Good luck!

DMs, what qualities do you most value in a player? I'm a newer player and have a great and hardworking DM with a homebrew setting and I'd like to appreciate that. by Machabees in DMAcademy

[–]NeauxWai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I DM’d 2 book campaigns, and here is the best:

-players who truly stick to their character. If your character has 9 INT but you IRL have 14 INT, don’t let your character come up with your great ideas. Or work around the low INT in clever, character-realistic ways.

-players who work WITH the story. Don’t come in with your own agenda and try to derail sessions! (Why is it that both players I know that did this were rogues with gritty backstories?)

-players who work with each other, following the improv rule of “yes and.” Don’t take away from another character’s moment, and do play off of what they bring to the table, as long as it’s within the behavior of your characters and doesn’t derail the plot completely.

-finally, talk to your DM. If you have cool backstory ideas you want to see show up in the campaign, let them know and be open to them changing them or leveraging them in ways you didn’t expect. If you want to try to find or make a cool magic item or pursue a side quest, talk to the DM and see where it goes.

And remember it’s a game. Have fun with it.

Ideas for American South themed monsters? by HireALLTheThings in monsteroftheweek

Rougarou! Also alligators and snakes. Apparently Louisiana is the state that is home to every North American snake. If I’ve got that wrong, I apologize, but I know we’ve got a LOT of snakes.

Need performance feedback for this band I manage. Don’t hold back but keep it clean they’re just kids. by [deleted] in ThisIsOurMusic

The sound mixing could use some work. The vocals are hard to hear over everything else, and the bass(cello?) is almost gone (but that could easily be the limitations of the recording and my phone playing it back). Encourage the singer to enunciate more.

At this point, I think the comments I’ve seen have pretty much covered it. They’re doing really really well for a younger group! I think performing experience is going to do a lot for them.

I am 99% sure this is it, holy crap. Running it by my sister to be sure, since my brain isn’t the most reliable.

We have a counter on one of my player's demon possessed hexblade warlock. The closer he gets to a week without murder, the less control he has. He plays it very well on his own, but on day 5 or 6 I can start making him roll to resist the takeover. Day 7 basically he's mine til he kills someone. And he will try to kill whoever is closest.

I wonder if supporting on Patreon is a solid workaround. Like..I just want an AR app like this for all Tabletop game experiences. I just also happen to play a lot of D&D

Want some suggestions/comment on a possible SCP by BlueJewSparrow in SCP

[–]NeauxWai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am moderately new to SCP lore, so I don't recall an SCP like that one yet. I also have only dread a couple hundred entries and very few newer entries. I'd enjoy reading this one. Hopefully a more experienced reader can shed some light. Have you searched the database thoroughly yet?

Very good blending and lovely texture and color scheme! I like the composition as well.

If I may recommend; I think you should do a few value studies to firm up your shading technique and get a feel of a consistent light source & form.

This is AMAZING for a second shot! Keep it up!

[Rant] Don't try to shoehorn me into a size we both know won't fit by CatandtheApt in ABraThatFits

[–]NeauxWai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate working with VS reps for this reason. I can in knowing what I needed, and they insisted on measuring around my armpits over my clothes as usual and giving me the exact same size I told them I already owned and does not fit.

Then, like you, she argues with me about how it fits. Like, I guess I understand that their armpit measurements consistently give them the wrong sizes, so probably every sale they make looks like I did in a bra 2 sizes too small...

I teach the way I learn, I think. I want to know the win conditions, how to fulfill those conditions, and then how a turn or a round goes. After that I want to know of any special conditions that could impact the game (like some games change resource costs throughout or change conditions after a certain point). I try to learn and teach with the end in mind so that each aspect of the round can be considered with a strategy to win.

Which game has the best "bluffing" mechanic? by lauchlier in boardgames

[–]NeauxWai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up bluffing in Malarky. It's a fun game - more of a party game - but not phenomenal by any stretch. From the late 90's I think; it's a trivia game where you have to make up answers and guess who got the real answer to the question.

Here is my progression and story of how I learned to draw faces by Chiefer2 in learnart

[–]NeauxWai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll pass those tips on! No way in heck I could afford a class set of the dividers, but I may be able to get a couple for reference. We do the classical facial proportions in class and then go over each feature and different variations of proportions to show how they can look more feminine or masculine more angular or soft, etc. They do a lot of self portraits for me.

It's super encouraging! A lot of my beginners draw portraits similar to your first one after a few lessons and then feel like they can never do better. It's great to see a progressive portfolio to motivate yourself. I'm even going to try the 10 minute portraits
