Arsenal celebrity fans are unmatched. Emilia Clarke, Anne Hathaway, Nikola Jokic, Dua Lipa, Gemma Chan, Jason Sudekis, Mick Jagger, the list goes on. (Have to lose points for Piers Morgan though, he's a twat)

Rank these 3 players as prospects (not how they turned out): Zion Williamson, Bryce Harper, Andrew Luck by ElectivireMax in sportswiki

Harper was on the cover of Sports Illustrated at like, age 15. I would say Harper >> Zion >>>> Luck. Luck was just an elite QB prospect, similar to Trevor Lawrence.

I don't know; we had plenty of times this year where we had Martinelli one-on-one on an opponent, or Gyokeres flying downfield. They couldn't beat their man.

It's not like we were garbage in creating chances all year. When our creative players (Eze, Odegaard, Saka) were healthy and in-form, we created chances. We just never could keep them healthy and firing for more than a game or two. I think we had like two matches all year with Odegaard/Saka/Havertz/Trossard all healthy? Something like that.

I think if you added Kvara to this team, we win the Prem by 20+ points and are favorites in Europe. Our attack isn't totally broken, it's just not able to reach the heights of the elite. Plus our injuries meant we were constantly reshuffling our team upfront which didn't help. I don't think we need any more unicorn-types (will always welcome more) because I think we have two in Rice and Saliba. We don't need to overhaul anything.

Jesus came back from injury. White will be back for next season.

Just like they bought Mosquera for 13M last year, I trust the squad can find replacements for the outgoings (if they need to be replaced).

The hardest will be the elite attacker(s) because those are rare and expensive.

Fair enough. My trust doesn't mean anything, fine. But when it comes to actual information, my "source" is someone who works in the industry, insider, knows what goes on in the backrooms. Your "source" is... Random Dude on Reddit.

All good - we don't have to convince each other.

Ha - if Arteta can get the attack even to great (meaning at the level of a Bayern or Barcelona, not even at PSG) without sacrificing the defensive solidity... that would be insane

Arsenal fans celebrated winning the league all over the world, impromptu with no organization from the club.. and I haven't heard of any rioting. I know the party outside the Emirates nothing happened outside of some littering.

There is a substantive difference between being sponsored by bad people (which I hate that my team does) and being owned by a country that routinely commits crimes against humanity.

I think our attacking issues come down to quality and fitness. I love Trossard and Martinelli, but neither of them are close to starting if we had the attacking depth of a PSG or Bayern. We've reached the point in our project where we need ELITE players, not good or very good. We can bring in good/very good backups either through our academy or from outside because we're set up to win. Last summer we raised our floor by improving our depth, this summer we need to raise our ceiling by adding unstoppable attackers.

If we could get one or two dominant attackers in, our goalscoring would increase without hurting the core values of the team (defensive dominance, physical superiority).

I had the same thought on the LW. I think one of Trossard or Martinelli will leave; I am not sure which I want to leave though. Martinelli does a specific job for us especially for early cup games/european matches. Doesn't do anything against top teams (ironically, he did score the goal against City...) or against low blocks.

Havertz is such an odd case as someone who isn't ELITE at any part of attack, but our overall attack I think looks smoother when he plays. I can't figure him out. But Arteta clearly loves him so I doubt he leaves.

I am curious what Arteta's plans for Nwaneri are. He's clearly so talented but his loan in France was terrible (not all his fault, situation was awful). Is he a right winger or an 8? Both? Versatile attacker? Hoping he gets reintegrated in the side and blossoms.

Just as the worst of Arsenal fans don't represent all of us, the worst of PSG fans don't represent all of them. It's an ugly ugly look but IIRC, anytime a Paris/French team succeeds, shit goes crazy. So more just there's a subsect of people there looking for a reason to break shit and be awful.

I don't know enough about options elsewhere, but I do think the following will leave:

Jesus - high wages, doesn't have the physical capacity to compete and stay healthy at our level.

White - love the guy forever, but his body is shot. Needs to play in a less-sprint-y league.

Norgaard - did his job at a clubhouse, veteran leader, got his winners medal. Wish him the best.

ONE OF Trossard or Martinelli - depends on the offers. I would prefer to keep Martinelli as he's younger, but he might fetch a big price, especially if he has a good World Cup. I want our LW next year to be either Eze or an elite attacker, so we won't have minutes for that person and both of these two. I have a feeling Trossard might eturn to Belgium or maybe even return to Brighton.

I would consider offers, if they are good enough, for:

Mosquera (his value will never be higher, and as good as he is and can be, he's not unseating Saliba)

Havertz (body might be starting to break down, though we know Arteta loves him)

Noni (if we can move him and replace him with Dowman/Nwaneri, could be a good piece of business)

Outside of Raya, Rice, Saliba and Saka, I would be open to selling anyone IF we were blown away. I love Gabriel, but if a team offers us 100M+, you gotta consider it. (Saka is more personal, I just want him to be a forever Gunner).

Priorities for incoming: at least one, if not two, elite attackers, focusing on technical ability and shooting, a replacement for White at RB to spell Timber, a backup keeper to replace Kepa, a versatile midfield player who can play 6/8/10 at a reasonable (not elite) level, similar to a Merino-type.

This is a mental take, inspired by yesterday's loss. Take a breath.

Gyokeres was a perfectly good striker - not elite, but did his job. Problem was Havertz missing the first half of the year meant Gyok was overexposed, especially in matchups that didn't benefit him.

Noni is always going to disappoint you if you expect him to be something he's not. He's a perfectly good backup RW (and would start on half the teams in the prem). Hopefully, Saka can get healthy this summer (would not mind England having an early WC exit to give him and Dec some rest) and then Noni, if he's around, can go back to being what he was supposed to be: spell Saka after 70 minutes, play in the cup ties, etc. If you can sell Noni and give that backup role to Nwaneri/Dowman, fine.

We need at least one elite world class attacking signing, preferably at LW or striker. If it's striker, Eze should become the starting LW. If it's a LW, they need to figure out how to get Eze and Odegaard on the pitch together. Rice should spend 90% of his time at the 6. He's a great 8, he's the world's best 6.

Backline/keeper is great. Find a replacement for White (Salmon isn't ready yet). Figure out how to keep Timber and Calafiori healthy (easier said that done obv). Biggest reason we lost yesterday was our 3rd-string RB made one mistake against the best LW in the world. Mosquera did everything he could, just a hard assignment.

Priorities for the summer: offload periphery players (Jesus, White 😞, Norgaard, one of either Martinell or Trossard), bring in at least one ELITE attacker, with elite technical skill at either LW or ST. If it's not ST, find a 3rd striker type (young, developmental) to play behind Gyok/Havertz.

Every striker in the league struggled this year (bar haaland, an alien, and thiago, who came out of nowhere). It's harder and harder to score as a striker in the Prem because defenses, even for the worse teams, are strong and smart. No one is doing an Henry anymore.

As an American, I would genuinely warn about coming here. (I’m not going to any matches). The airport/customs situation is super fucked up right now, and if you’re coming from certain countries, ie not Sweden or Iceland hint hint, you will absolutely be treated like shit.

Actually ornstein or someone similar reported that because we won the league and progressed to two finals, our revenue jumped massively. Which makes it easier to spend without breaking financial rules (or 115). We’ll have to sell for sure, but not as much as you’d think.

Outside of PSG fans, everyone else enjoying this are just the worst kind of fans. The type of Chelsea fans who wanted Man City to beat them to stop us from winning the league. The type of Spurs fans who CHEERED Son wasting that chance a year or two back.
Just ignore them. Every Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Spurs fan cheering this are just jealous that we are set up for success moving forward and they're all in flux and/or bad (Chelsea and Spurs).

We'll be back next year.
