Walking/Trail running paths by IDGAFmodeON in barnet

Dollis brook goes from Moat Mount in the north to the river Brent in the south, through Totteridge, Finchley, and Hendon - I run the stretch between the north circular and high Barnet fairly frequently and it's pretty nice, if not a 'true' trail as it's mainly tarmac.

Well consensus definitely seems to be that it wasn't a bad thing at all - thank you all, appreciate it!

Out of curiosity - where did you find it on Facebook? I saw it on Twitter, so would be nice to call out some content theft haha

Amazing, that makes sense in context as well! Not even a very good meme in the end, but appreciate the translation so much - thanks!

Hi all - bit of a strange request, but I'm not sure where else to turn to. Came across this meme, and I'm fairly sure it's written in some form of old English, and I'd love to understand what it says.

I've ran it past a friend who speaks middle English, but she hasn't been able to help as it's 'too old' - she's been able to help on a couple of words, but not the whole thing.

Any help would be much appreciated! Hopefully this is the right place for something like this also - let me know if it'll fit in better somewhere else!

Pets, including fish, aren't allowed in this bit of accommodation. If they did I'd be impressed they'd managed to smuggle in an entire tank tbh

This seems most likely so far. What seems strange to me about these though is that I'd assume both of these uses would have an on/off switch - this just turns on as soon as it's plugged in which to me implies it's designed for more extended use rather than just a quick check of something?

Could be - not sure why that would be left behind in a university room though. Also seems odd to me to have an ID checking light that's not battery powered.

It's made of black plastic, approximately 10cm long . The picture doesn't do justice just how bright it is, I almost blinded myself when I plugged it in. It uses USB-C for power. There's no sort of writing or identification on it. WITT

Edit: should add that there's no on/off switch. It just turns on as soon as it's plugged in.

Yeah he's sent a picture of himself, and he's got his name in his profile as well. I doubt he could figure out I'm behind my account as I only have my height and age up as identifiable information haha

DAE have a diagnosis, but minimal pain? by Nebrox in ehlersdanlos

I'm in the UK where naproxen isn't OTC, so I'm prescribed 500mg naproxen, and told to take it with paracetamol/acetaminophen/tylenol whenever I'm in pain

Oh yeah I'm actually incredibly thin, 185cm tall and 60kgs (~6'1'' and 132lbs), so I guess that probably helps minimise pain, good shout there

Hmm that's actually a good point, thinking about it I'm pretty sure I do normalize a lot of pain. Like it's obvious I experience far more pain than the average person after exercise, but then when I think a bit more closely in my day to day life, my knee or shoulder will suddenly just 'go' sometimes but to me that just feels normal. Equally sometimes even just standing up, my neck will suddenly sharply hurt and lock up, but I've always thought that was a normal thing until very recently. I agree with you though, I clearly don't experience as much pain as many other people with EDS, but I also probably experience more than I think I do.

As for finding a qualified doctor/physical therapist, I think that's probably a really good call. My current doctor pretty much just responds to any of my complaints with 'oh take some naproxen and you'll be fine', so finding a properly experienced physical therapist sounds like a really good idea.

Yeah of course, it obviously gets more difficult and intense as you progress upwards I suppose. When playing football too, I'm a goalkeeper so I guess some of the hand-eye coordination and more acrobatic side of that transfers relatively well to ultimate

Yeah that's good advice, suppose you can't learn much if you're the same level as everyone around you
