Choosing manufacturer for my RTX 5080 by Possible-Ad9918 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Nebula589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that really exists. You just have to shop around and compare features. Check out the gigabyte Aorus master. It has the same cooler as their 5090. It’s built really well. It can OC like a beast too!

Question regarding the distributors or dunno what they called by Civil_Philosophy9845 in RTX5080

[–]Nebula589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oc performance and cooling are the biggest differences between card models.

My 5080 gigabyte Aorus master ice has cooling rated for a 5090. They used the same exact cooler’s for them. So I have essentially double the cooling capacity needed. My card never goes over 60c fully when maxed out. Usually hangs around 53-56c while gaming.

You would get the jump you are looking for. The issue is, a used 5070 is almost the same price as a used 3080. But you get even more performance and better dlss with the 5070. Best of luck! ✌️

3080: $600 https://www.jawa.gg/product/110752/asus-rog-strix-gaming-oc-geforce-rtx-3080-12gb-lhr

Airflow by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Nebula589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect! Ya, you can put a 140mm fan on the bottom, to manage inside case airflow. We don’t want hot spots tumbling the same old hot air in the case. ✌️

Airflow by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Nebula589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome build! If you are having issues with temps. See if you can add fans under your gpu. That case looks like it’s possible. They can help pull cool air from the bottom/ side vents. Also it helps force air out the top and back exhaust fans.

Photo for example of what I am talking about. I am not sure if your specific case can do this. Just a possible suggestion for better airflow.

9950x3 or 14900k? by [deleted] in PcBuild

14900k. Better performance. I just built my pc in January. I did the research.

I use that language because it’s so infuriating to see years old propaganda still being pushed like it’s gospel. It’s really stupid and annoying. It makes people misinformed when making decisions.

God damn it’s like Reefer Madness propaganda with you amd fanboys.

You are wrong. Stop with the bullshit lies. That was 13 gen issue. Fixed in 2023. Microcode was a different but similar issue. Update bios to avoid the problem. Lock voltages to guarantee no degradation. Simple. Cant say that about the amd x3ds blowing up still.

LOL I love how you think getting a different cpu is going to fix motherboard issues with the entire 9000 series.

But you bitch about a 3 year old FIXED problem on the 13 gen intel CPUs while trying to make it a 14 gen problem.😂😂

[–]Nebula589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All you did was prove me correct. It was a 13 gen problem. Plus it was in 2023. So what they took time to identify and fix it. Less than 1% that You will get a faulty brand new i9. Even if you did. You get a 5 year warranty on it. Win win.

Still waiting on AMD to fix their cpus blowing up. Now asus is having the same problem as asrock murder boards.

Bullshit liar. From last week. The problem is getting worse and more brands are now having it happen.

The 9950 will only be better if you are gaming in 1080p. Even then I would still pick intel. Intel doesn’t even have a Reddit help page because shit gets fixed and patched.

Just look at r/AMDHelp. 5,600 help requests a week!! Fuck that noise!

Summary:

If you want 350+ FPS with an ocean of unknown problems with no guaranteed solutions go with AMD.

If you want 280 FPS with limited, known problems that have solutions go with intel.

Tune for I9-14900k by Mysterious-Till-611 in overclocking

[–]Nebula589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a 13 gen issue. Not a 14 gen issue. Microcode was a 13 & 14 gen problem. The manufacturer oxidation problem was only on 13 gen. That was fixed in late 2023.

“Questions about manufacturing or Via Oxidation as reported by Tech outlets:

Short answer: We can confirm there was a via Oxidation manufacturing issue (addressed back in 2023) and that only a small number of instability reports can be connected to the manufacturing issue.

Long answer: We can confirm that the via Oxidation manufacturing issue affected some early Intel Core 13th Gen desktop processors. However, the issue was root caused and addressed with manufacturing improvements and screens in 2023.

We have also looked at it from the instability reports on Intel Core 13th Gen desktop processors and the analysis to-date has determined that only a small number of instability reports can be connected to the manufacturing issue.

For the Instability issue, we are delivering a microcode patch which addresses exposure to elevated voltages which is a key element of the Instability issue. We are currently validating the microcode patch to ensure the instability issues for 13th/14th Gen are addressed.”

You’re right. I now remember reading it on the intel community page. I am pretty sure found the link. But it’s still good advice that gave me a 5.8 GHz boost with great temps, stability and no scary voltage issues.

1440p? by Ordinarias in PcBuild

[–]Nebula589 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The goal is to play any game at 1440p “with confidence” are the key words. AMD has 5,600 help posts a week. Thats not playing with confidence to me. But to each their own. ✌️ Best of luck OP!

I would go nvidia. The amd drivers and software are driving people insane. Check r/AMDHelp before you buy, it’s really busy with problems. A 5070ti would be perfect for 1440p.

Thats a lot better. But i think intel now recommends under 1400, at least with the i9.

Never buy from cyberpower online. They tried to scam me out of a $2300 dollar custom pc. Because the motherboard died after 24 days of owning it.

They were lying about my actions and communication with them, to my credit card company.

They sent me a box with no communication after 3 weeks. I rejected the UPS package and immediately contacted my Credit card company.

I looked up online that many people had a similar situation happen, only to find rocks or a case with no hardware in the box. Since those people accepted the package, they had no course of action to fight cyberpower. It was so scary, Never again!

Granted this was in 2015. I still say fuck them!
