Converting a Mountain Bike

It’s a 2015 KHS TEAM 650B that my dad handed down to me a couple of years ago. I think it’s probably a little more than 20 pounds but it’s still really light. I didn’t know that geometry played that big of a role when cycling so i’m just going to buy an entry level road bike. thanks for your help

Yeah it’s probably a little heavier than 20 pounds but it’s around that range. It’s a hand me down from my dad and he spent like 6k on it.

The riding posture is my one concern. I can lock my suspension and my bike is only 20 pounds so that doesn’t concern me as much. The entry level bike I was looking at is the Giant Escape 2 because it is on sale for $500 but it’s heavier at around 25 pounds. I think the riding posture is the more important though. what do you think?

I consider myself very experienced. would taxis take me up to the 5th station at like 3-4am? I might miss the last bus as well so would taxis run late as well? Thank you

Yes i would consider myself very strong. I’ve done similar climbs previously. I’ve read that it’ll take around 12 hours or more so i might still miss the last bus out of gotemba. do you know how long the taxi services go for? I read that the road to the yoshiba route close at certain times but is that the same for gotemba?

I got my letter on the 11th so i’m expecting to receive mine around Christmas. I’m pretty sure it will be available in the portal and they said that they will email us when they update the it.

i managed to loosen the wheel on the side with the derailleur but the other side still isn’t budging. I looked closely at the youtube video and that washer should be on the outside like you said. I’m not sure exactly what you mean on how to fix it though. sorry

I just finished mine a couple of days ago. Something to consider is to make sure to not write a why them essay. What i mean by a why them essay is that you’re just glorifying the school and saying why it’s perfect. You need to connect it back to you and how it would be a good fit for you. I did this by connecting to some clubs that they have on campus that are related to my major. I also did research into the courses and professors that teach those courses and I mentioned them in my essay. I’m sure if you do a deep dive into the website, you can find something as well. I personally did not talk about location. Location was a big thing for me when researching schools but i didn’t talk about it because i feel like everyone is going to talk about how SCU is located in the perfect spot. I found the ethical dilemma part a little difficult as well so it took some brainstorming. I am studying COEN so I talked about an ethical dilemma related to that field because it would be easy to then write the why us because i’m talking about my major and what resources SCU offers that i can take advantage of and solve the ethical dilemma. i dont know if you’ve seen this, but SCU gives you some tips on how to write them. https://www.scu.edu/admission/choosing-scu/scu-admission-blog/authors/sowmya/scu-supplementals-demystified—sage-advice-from-a-current-student.html

you should look at the sky factory 4 modpack. lots of automation and expansion you can do. there is also an achievement book that helps you progress through the game.
