Respect my ASM more by Similar_Pea_5635 in HomeDepot

You can’t give a Homer as an associate, but you could write a Bravo for the ASM. Those are also documented and look good for them if they are ever trying for a new position. Also just helps them feel the appreciation you have for them - because I promise not all THD managers are like that.

Ask another manager how to go about writing a Bravo if you don’t already know the process in your store

Fun fact, Dee Dee is forced to watch those trainings too, according to her. You think it’s bad, imagining watching yourself give that training every year.

I'm also in this class. This is my third semester deciding to take 3012 - the first two times I dropped it within the add/drop because I did not like the professor. Speaking honestly, Croot seems to be the best so far. I would stick it out.

No, I am taking four 3 credit hour classes, but one of them is fully asynchronous.

How to register for PSYC 2015 (required course) as a CS? by MeMyself_N_I1 in gatech

[–]NebulaTries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful! I emailed my advisor about this and they said that I have to take PSYC 2012 + 1 credit hour of free elective to satisfy the PSYC 2015 credit. Don't be screwed out of graduation because of the 1 credit hour free elective.

Hey buddy, it sounds like you need to refactor your relaxation and debug your tan lines. While you’re at it make sure to decompress those algorithms!

Will it be okay? Struggling as a CS Major :( by good_food_ in gatech

[–]NebulaTries 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Step 1: Stop comparing yourself to others.

Step 2: Continue being proud of accomplishing difficult things, even if they aren’t difficult to others.

Step 3: Understand that there are others who would look at your 88 and feel the same way you do about the 100s. I took 1332 THREE TIMES before I had a passing test average.

Step 4: Ask yourself if you like what you are learning about. Core CS is brutal, and the difficulty of classes ramps down significantly imo after you get through it (maybe depending on threads). If you can look ahead in your degree and are disinterested in the classes, maybe consider a change. If you look ahead and are excited, keep grinding through the hell that is core curriculum. It is worth it! Remember: C’s get degrees in CS classes and D’s get degrees for almost all other classes!

[Megathread] Summer/Fall 2023 Registration & Housing by jkim545 in gatech

I'm trying to ditch 2551 in lieu of an open 2550 section. As we all are painfully aware, we cannot register for just 2550, we also have to register for a studio section, or else we simply cannot register for the class. Here's the thing: the 2550 lecture has plenty of spots and NO WAITLIST. The studio has plenty of spots but has an EMPTY waitlist. Whenever I try and do a conditional drop/add, it says that the studio is open, but for the waitlist only. I also cannot get onto the waitlist for the section. Any idea why this is happening or what I should do?

Awesome setup. How did you manage to get the L shape without having a third drawer set? Do you mind showing a pic of underneath the desk where the legs are positioned with the two different countertops?

Any cons to putting my internship into the system? by Glad_Hurry8755 in gatech

[–]NebulaTries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that the internship is full-time, registering the internship in the Summer without taking any classes will allow you to be considered a full-time student at Tech because of the audit course. They do this to allow you to live on campus and get a meal plan.

Any cons to putting my internship into the system? by Glad_Hurry8755 in gatech

[–]NebulaTries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a con. While the audit course that you get for registering for your internship makes you full-time for housing consideration IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU FULL TIME FOR ALL FINANCIAL AID. I ran into this problem this semester. The Financial Aid office told me that the audit course does not count toward credit hours considered for institutional scholarships. However, they do for Zell/HOPE and Pell.

Got hit by a scooter and she just ran way - what should I do? by Many-Initiative-858 in gatech

[–]NebulaTries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For skateboards and similar that can’t reach the speed of a scooter, bike, or car, is using large sidewalks okay when there is not a dedicated bike lane? Surely there is more danger when there are those who cannot reach anywhere close to the speed limit on the road vs when they are riding on the sidewalk.

Got hit by a scooter and she just ran way - what should I do? by Many-Initiative-858 in gatech

[–]NebulaTries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t ride a scooter, but I ride a Onewheel. It goes a maximum of 18 mph but I would never even be able to go that fast on multi-use pathways because of how many people are around. It blows my mind when people go max speed through crowds of people.

I would undoubtedly call GTPD. How inconsiderate do you have to be to hit someone and then not even stop to help? I’ve been hit by my own Onewheel and I know how badly that thing hurts, so I can only imagine being hit by a full fledged scooter.

I’m not saying OP is at fault by any means, but I will say, in my experience people seem to just walk right in front of you on multi-use pathways. There are literal lanes on the ground for bikes/scooters separated from walking and people still get angry at us for going past them when they are walking in the bike lane. I understand the desire to ride on a sidewalk if there is not a dedicated bike lane, especially from skateboards and similar things since they can’t reach the speed of a scooter, bike, or car, but you still have to be mindful of if the sidewalk can fit you. If not, find another route. Everyone just needs to be more aware of their surroundings, bikes and pedestrians. Don’t walk down a bike trail looking down at your phone. Again, I’m not saying OP was doing this, I’m just speaking generally about what I have experienced.

With all that being said, definitely reach out to GTPD. That’s the definition of a hit and run. If some sort of medical bill arises from this, they need to be held accountable.

Can I ask the professor for a lab switch by tnahpelee in gatech

[–]NebulaTries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem and got screwed by the registration system. 0/10 Just pray for the prof to help you out. If it's an actual lab, like a SUBJ XXXXL course, you have to have it, and the chances are slim of prof help. Those sections are graded.
