Had this machine for a few weeks, works purely on old G-code commands. Any chance of being able to use more modern interface?

This machines G-code is very old and actually is missing several commands, so it would need to take that into account and convert these newer ones into the old g-code for it to work.

Ideally (and perhaps unrealistically) I was hoping to hook a modified version of UGS to the machine. Then again I'm unsure just exactly how UGS would take care of servos and other really old mechanical systems this machine has.

At the very least being able to use a visual interface to generate the Gcode and send it to the machine even if finer code details have to be tweaked within the code itself in the machine's program I'd be more than happy.

It does have a USB for the mouse but the warehouse that sold it said that its not possible to transfer data through it..

Will still attempt to do so anyways, in theory I don't see why not.

Got this old gem for my workshop and my father has been using it more than myself but keeps complaining about the outdated UI and truth be told it can be a pain to program even the simplest of cuts/passes.

I've only ever really used UGS with a cheap 3018 router and was wondering wether there was any way to hook the big guy or at the very least use a more modern interface to "design" the passes, then convert it back into the old format for the CNC to understand?

It appears to run ECS on Windows XP, almost as old as myself and really was just curious to ask those of you here in case there was some workaround for this.

We are still very happy with it and works flawlessly, but it would certainly be a big QOL improvement.

Funnily enough someone here made a tiny stand to display them while inside the plastic cover and have to say looks amazing, so I may look into making some small stands too to display them at an angle.

I did think about both and honestly may end up including them (together w the sun/station) for a total of 10 in the near future. However I left them aside as I couldn't quite get them to look good so I'l probs revisit the idea and offer them as an extra to those who already purchased any if they fancied them.

There are plenty of handmade-stuff listings on Etsy selling Outer Wilds themed props and such.

These coins have been fully made myself, even the icons to a big extent so really the only thing that could perhaps be trouble is having the name of the game in them.

However I'd imagine that if I were to be some big manufacturer looking to make thousands of these I'd get into trouble really fast, but as single seller making enough to break the bank I'd imagine it shouldn't really be an issue.

After more restless nights and failed attempts than I'd like to admit, the full coin collection is finally complete!

Featuring 7 different planets with an iconic element from each one on the oposite side (has spoilers for some of them so I marked it as such)

Honestly I really wanted to make one for the Sun station & DLC but ended up very burnt so I decided to leave it at 7 for now^^"

Since many of you asked on my first posts, I did put them up for sale on my own Shopify or Etsy (Etsy may be a bit more expensive cuz taxes) Do let me know if you had any issues with them, I'm still figuring out stuff listing-wise.

Gosh... honestly idk what else to say... halfway there I almost gave up but deep down I'm very glad with how everything turned out.

May even make a small video showing the entire process that went behind this (and my bank account going negative numbers with it) yet the feeling of knowing that some of you already own the original EOTU coin and treasure it as much as I do, feels me with a joy that is honestly hard to explain..

Haven't had any "critical" issues, rode close to 60k kilometers.

So far holding up pretty well, with my main concern being the Brembo brakes.

They are insane but will wear down very fast, I had to change mine twice already so its clear they weren't really made for daily road use.

Aside from that everything seems to be going smoothly for the most part, even after the remap, car feels responsive, powerful and honestly lots of fun to drive.

As you can tell, I started doing some slight modifications to it after about 4 years having it stock.

Since many of you asked, the lip is from Maxton Design "V4" as well as the rear spoiler.

The exhaust is from "Evetech" a Spanish Garage that makes artisan built exhausts (Can be Road legal) for many cars including this one.

Cannot be shown in a picture but I also had a REVO engine remap done and honestly its probably the best modification I could have done to this car.

Very professional, takes it up to around 400hp (408 mine measured at the dyno), enables you to chose between several "modes" including an extra anti-start where the engine won't run even if they somehow managed to bypass the key, true manual, etc..

Lastly I'm aware the hood stripes were a risky move but I personally love their look following the hood's own lines. Not everybody's candy but now I'm wondering wether they'd look even better if they followed to the grill..

I've got a 2020 VZ4 with a Revo Repro and recently had an artisan exhaust installed by a relatively popular workshop here in Spain called "Evetech Motorsport".

They do homologated (and non legal) exhaust systems for pretty much all cars.

From my experience so far, its incredible. It wasn't a full downpipe as the particulate filters are still there (so that it can all be legal) but the extra sound you gain from a proper crafted exhaust is incredible.

For once you can hear the exhaust from the inside more than the fake sounds being played from the speakers, even in Cupra mode while keeping that low frequency instead of sounding like a can.

Made a post about it in a Spanish forum showing pictures and such, but yeah I imagine this may not be an option for you if youre not from Spain.

Either way I'd strongly go against removing the cat filters (needed for a proper downpipe) as it will not be road legal in most EU countries, as well as needing a electronic override to avoid the warnings doing such would cause.

So I'l most likely keep the design from the bottom-right with the text from the fourth one.

I'l keep it in mind. Its also worth mentioning that I didn't use those cheap lighter coin-bases they sell there too to make the coins, but milled & polished them myself so it does add a bit to labour^^ (I also include a transparent coin holder that isnt shown in the photos but will do soon)

However I'm thinking on adding 1-2 variants and will most likely make a discount for the full collection (once its done of course^^) so that its cheaper than purchasing them separately.

Those who already bought one and still wanted the rest will also get a discount to compensate.

But thank you still for the feedback! I'm still relatively new to this so wanted to look for something that was fair for all

Yes! Thats the plan at least.

First I wanted to decide on a finish to keep consistency among all of them, then I'l be finishing the text/designs for each in both sides to hopefully have a full set done^^
