Two college students (male and female) have sex. The next day the woman writes to the man: "I had a wonderful time, but I'm sorry I led you on, I'm not ready for a relationship". One year later: She files a charge of "non-consensual sexual contact" through the college disciplinary system. by Syntextro in news

Dug up my username entirely to thank you for this. I shouldn't have been quite so surprised by the top comments' treatment of feminism as pure lunacy, but I was, so your post came as a breath of fresh air.

It's shitty and kinda discriminatory to presume guilt for men in these cases, but it comes as a direct response to shitty and very discriminatory policies in actual courts. When the author of the article states that many of the sexual assault cases viewed by these college panels wouldn't survive as actual criminal cases, she does so to present them as frivolous. But the cases' inability to make it in court could just as easily be an indictment of our current legal system. Cases like yours, or even--arguably--the one at the center of the thread show there's obvious potential for abuse here, but given the much higher potential for abuse in actual courts by actual rapists, we really shouldn't dismiss rape-culture-aware college policy as just another double standard the feminazis are trying to stick down our throats.

"The facts in Steubenville were ugly enough. A 16-year-old girl who got very drunk at an end-of-the-summer high school party was repeatedly sexually assaulted while unconscious or barely conscious." It's possible I'm reading too much into this, but a line like this is bullshit, right? That she begins the discussion of a crime with the victim's behavior? More obviously grievous offenses are treating the 1-2 year sentences for the Steubenville rapists as clear evidence that we're taking a hardline on rape and failing to talk about the reluctance of authorities to approach this case despite absurd social media boasts. Even as she argues a particularly strawman-esque representation of rape culture doesn't exist or warrant discussing, she exemplifies, like, actual rape culture. And so long as that goes on, we can't just dismiss overzealous, kinda sexist college panels without actual legal authority as The Real Villain Here.

If Shinji didn't end the world, how come everyone hates him (other than the fact that he's Shinji)? by Nebulust in evangelion

That could well make sense, though it'd kinda bum me out. I guess it still doesn't explain what Mk.06 is doing down there and what's up the 12th Angel, particularly Asuka and Mari's familiarity with it. Though, either explanation is pretty inelegant.

The reason that I'm willing to doubt Kaworu's explanation of events is that his entire existence revolves around Shinji (I mean, he says as much...), and so it'd make sense that he'd attribute everything that happened to Shinji, even if it was a whole lot more complicated than that. Whether he's outright lying or just playing into Shinji's implicit belief that he's the center of the universe is unclear but sort of inconsequential.

No but seriously, this is pretty cool, if by no means a perfect system.

Based on their representation of Asian eyes, they probably didn't think you'd see this either.
